Ya ya ya green day are big sellouts...but they have something that most of the other pop punk bands *cough cough* *good charlotte* don't.....talent! And at least they give back to the underground (Billie Joe has his own indie label) and he admits he's sold out and can laugh at himself. I may not like ALL of their music...but I do have a certain respect for them.

Abdul:Green Day are a band that have influenced a lot of other bands(Blink 182(They are so retarded),Sum 41,etc.)and have also influenced me to play guitar and write my on songs after Green Day's style.They are one of the biggest punk rock bands in the universe and personally are my favourite.
Vaggos:I like them a lot and I think that they are one of the best bands in the world.Billie Joe can write really great songs with both electric and acoustic guitars.
P.S. Signing to a major label or exploring their style of music with ballads and the Warning album doesn't mean that they're not punk.Punk is a life style...nothing less,nothing more.

Greenday also influenced me at a young age to play guitar and write songs and shit. i love greenday, they are truly my favorite band ever.

b) Pierre is probably the only reason you like simple plan, and the only reason that you decided to become a punk chick.
c) there is no such thing as a punk chick, and you can't decide to become one...Punk is for the most part a life style with a lot of influence in music...it is not a motorcycle gang that you can get inducted into....so, you can shove your punky chicky face up your skinny ass!

Ummm...I'd like to point something out to you so called Punk chicks.Listening to a band because of their sexy band members or trying to be cool isn't very wise,now is it?Billie Joe may be the ugliest man on earth as far as I know(you shouldn't even give a shit if he was) but Green Day are great musicians even by playing three chords.After all,that's what Punk's all about ,right?People should be listening to bands for their music and what they stand for.Not for any other reason.

Green day are awesome. I compare them to bands like Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins, their influence on my life and the lives of so many is huge. I grew up listening to them and there music. I love their lyrics and id have to say that all Green day new or old is all incredible music. They were my first love and made me want to listen to music. Unlike most teens, i dont want to purposefully be different or purposefully follow the crowd. I just do what i want to do. And if people think that Green day is a dead band, performed by 30 year olds, i say kiss my arse! You dip shits listen to Arvil who is purely marketing, and fakeness. I say wake up and smell the fucking roses, Greenday are the masters. Whatever you want to call their music, punk, rock, alternative, it doesnt matter, what they play takes amazing talent. Hope you all back me with that. On a leaving note, ARVIL LAVIGNE SHOULD BE BEATEN OVER THE HEAD WITH HER FUCKING SKATEBOARD, ITD BE THE MOST USE ITS EVER HAD. Green day always;) and my love to Billie Joe, Tre and Mike, you are all not only musicians but artists and geniuses at that. Thanks for the music and please please keep it up.

Green day isn't bad... they are just like the other bands though. They all play music... who cares what the ylook like or stand for... you cant just say "I LOVE the MUSIC" of green day and then totally contradict youself by going "I HATE ____ becuase they aren't really punk." Actually i think most all of their songs sound the same... but oh well... And if punk really is just about being true to yourself and your friends... what the hell is the difference if you do it with some half ass label ... or you have fun and make millions a year??? as long as you still keep doing what you love then what matters?

Who cares if Green Day just play power chords (btw they are not all power chords). Their music is great, punk isn't about all guitar. If you want amazing, long guitar pieces, go look up some classic rock (Heart, Led Zepplin, Lynrd Skynrd, etc). But punk music is more about the lyrics and the meanings behind them, wether they are deep and heart felt, or just something crazy. Punk is about sending a message. So don't put down Green Day because SOME of their songs are pure power chords. Honestly, if you are that picky, then you are truly missing out on appreciating alot of good music.

Green Day is the best band ever!!!! They know how to play Punk Music!!!! No matter what they play, it will always be great!!!!!!! Blink 182 can't play Punk Music or any music at all, they SUCK!! If you want they best band ever, get Green Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like Green Day, Blink 182 & Good Charlotte (although Green Day is more like role models 2 me). I these 3 bands r different however. Blink is punk (the "hard" one). Green day is punk with rock influences, while GC is punk with "poppy" sound (like Live on Release - rock with "poppy" sound). So I still can't decide which of them is better. n by the way, if anybody call any of the bands I mentioned as "gay", no one will give a fuck cuz it doesn't matter. n if anybody call any of the bands i mentioned "sux", they really should go to hell!!
