Vaggos:I like them a lot and I think that they are one of the best bands in the world.Billie Joe can write really great songs with both electric and acoustic guitars. P.S. I compare them to bands like Nirvana and Smashing Pumpkins, their influence on my life and the lives of so many is huge. I grew up listening to them and there music. I love their lyrics and id have to say that all Green day new or old is all incredible music. They were my first love and made me want to listen to music. Unlike most teens, i dont want to purposefully be different or purposefully follow the crowd. I just do what i want to do. And if people think that Green day is a dead band, performed by 30 year olds, i say kiss my arse! You dip shits listen to Arvil who is purely marketing, and fakeness. I say wake up and smell the fucking roses, Greenday are the masters. Whatever you want to call their music, punk, rock, alternative, it doesnt matter, what they play takes amazing talent. Hope you all back me with that. On a leaving note, ARVIL LAVIGNE SHOULD BE BEATEN OVER THE HEAD WITH HER FUCKING SKATEBOARD, ITD BE THE MOST USE ITS EVER HAD. They all play music... who cares what the ylook like or stand for... you cant just say "I LOVE the MUSIC" of green day and then totally contradict youself by going "I HATE ____ becuase they aren't really punk." Actually i think most all of their songs sound the same... but oh well... And if punk really is just about being true to yourself and your friends... what the hell is the difference if you do it with some half ass label ... or you have fun and make millions a year??? as long as you still keep doing what you love then what matters? >>By Stu Johnny K: Who cares if Green Day just play power chords (btw they are not all power chords). Their music is great, punk isn't about all guitar. If you want amazing, long guitar pieces, go look up some classic rock (Heart, Led Zepplin, Lynrd Skynrd, etc). But punk music is more about the lyrics and the meanings behind them, wether they are deep and heart felt, or just something crazy. Punk is about sending a message. So don't put down Green Day because SOME of their songs are pure power chords. Green Day!!! my heroes!! I like Green Day, Blink 182 & Good Charlotte (although Green Day is more like role models 2 me). I these 3 bands r different however. Blink is punk (the "hard" one). Green day is punk with rock influences, while GC is punk with "poppy" sound (like Live on Release - rock with "poppy" sound).
