Green Day is a great band, but I think that calling other bands "boy pop bands" is going a little far. Boy pop bands are groups such as Backstreet Boys and Nsync who are only in it for the money and fame. Bands such as Blink 182, New Found Glory, and Simple Plan are all very good bands who have talent. They play their own instuments which would take them out of the boy pop band catergory. This site is for Green Day fans ... no need to be dissing other bands.

Billie's voice DOES sound congested, but thats exactly why i like his voice! it makes the songs sound fucking awesome! Punk is about the music and punk is also a state of mind, ladies and gentlemen. Who cares, no really. their just another band who got it right by keeping it simple. Try using more than three chords. I pitty myself, stooping to the level of posing a note in a forum that counts for jack shit, but i still pitty green day more. Though i do like jackass, the song not the show. ZEPPELIN STILL RULE!

Green Day is awesome, so is Good Charolette, The Ataris, Dropkick Murpheys, The Ramones, NFG, Saves the Day, MXPX etc. And to whoever said that Avril Lavigne was punk doesn't know what punk is. Avril is pop just like britney or christina. They should all move to Guam or something i hate them all. And by the way, i burned one of Avril's CDs, my friends and i bought it and burned it. :-D

right back again! iv just read the billie joe - congested comments n i think his voice is great! all slurred n stuff n i think it makes the songs what they are! but yea sk8er gurl, tell us all now if uv changed your opinion on the whole avril is more punk than a difinitive punk band (thats greenday btw).

you don't know what the hell you are talking about. In case you haven't noticed, Avril wears gangster necklaces that
say punk. She is a freaking walking contradiction. Anyone that calls themself punk is most definitely not. Greenday
wears t-shirts that they found in the bottom of their underwear drawer, they didn't buy them from
gucci. And that my friends is the definition of punk. Punk - waking up in the morning glad to have a pair of pants within
arms reach, strumming a bit on your guitar, and living however the hell you want, whether it be considered rebellious or not.
Punk is not about going around smashing mail boxes actively thinking, "oh, this is what a picture perfect punk rebel would do.
And i don't care what you call greenday, go ahead and call them country...I call them a very talented collection of lads from the
Bay Area. Oh, and to satisfy all you so called fans out there (you know who you are), my favorite song is "Waiting", Billie Joe is the
hottest morsel of flesh on this planet and...thank you and goodnight.

Who the hell cares, whoever say's their not punk they suck blah blah well face if you had a chance like they did you would take it too! Simple Plan, Good Charlotte may not be the best bands ever their not claming to be but if you had a chance to be in a group like them and get paid what they do you would and dont even tell me you wouldnt! So if their in it for the money it's not like you people wouldn't!
