obviously gc isnt like the pop bands because they even say in a song that they never wanna be llike them,.. sooo umm ya... your dumb

>>By **GC**BABE**   (Wednesday, 13 Aug 2003 07:46)

Even if the punk trend goes GC will still have their true fans in 5, 10 or 20 years. The band will not be so "hott" then.
Gc babe just because somebody says they dont want to be something doesnt mean they cant be that (not saying GC are a pop band).

>>By Riot Girl   (Wednesday, 13 Aug 2003 14:48)

GC is so great ican totally relate to their songs

>>By jack_is_hot   (Wednesday, 13 Aug 2003 23:58)

Avril said she doesn't want to be like pop artists but look at her. I see something there. I think it also applies to Good Charlotte but not to the extreme of Avril Lavigne.

>>By Emoboy2.0   (Thursday, 14 Aug 2003 01:25)

like riot girl said they will have fans in 10, 20 years just that they wont be the main focus of tv there will probably be another new trend maybe disco(which i doubt) will be the new trend in the future.

Emoboy2.0- avril is pop shes just trying to hard to be punk GC may have maybe a little tiny touch of that pop (nothing against them)

>>By Suyen X   (Thursday, 14 Aug 2003 03:37)

Good Charlotte are pop-rock even from their first album.

>>By Emoboy2.0   (Thursday, 14 Aug 2003 04:41)

Although i love Good Charlotte and all....i would say they are pop rock....sorry to say....but i have to say that the people that call them punk rock are ussually the ones that make them look like posers...

>>By AcidTears   (Thursday, 14 Aug 2003 07:22)

They say they don't wan't to be like those other bands, why would they even worry about that if they weren't pop. Who do they think they are??? They are those bands, thats just their guilty conscience showin it's ugly face. GC is the equivalant to disco in the 70's, and theres a back lash happening amongst the ranks. It's not that people think that their ruining "the scene", it's that they act like their apart of it, when it couldn't be further from the truth. They lack any feeling or depth to be taken seriously, thats a major part of them being just another pop band. Their music is nothing but three chord hooks, songs you might hear drunks in a sports bar singing together. These people trying to argue their validity as artist's and songwriters. I mean cammon, look at the world today, listening to bubble gum crap like GC makes me sick, especially when i think about the state of things. They don't label themselves punk, thats alright cause we all know if thats the case, their wannabes. Their music isn't original enough to spark a new genre. In fact what little originality exists is lost amongst the masses. As for the state of things, i understand that things don't have to be heavy all the time, but they shouldn't be so shallow as to when you jump in you break your neck.

>>By 7L-weenie   (Thursday, 14 Aug 2003 08:06)

ok so i dont understand y some people love GC's music but stop listening to it when it gets famous. i mean if they like it the should stay liking. y does it matter if its popular or not?

>>By Missie   (Thursday, 14 Aug 2003 19:27)

7L-weenie: I have to agree that Good Charlotte shows very little originality in their music and are hardly any different from the Blink-182s and Simple Plans out there. But I say give them a chance, they can make kick-ass music that can shut up a bunch of wannabes out there. But at this rate, with all the poser fans overshadowing the real fans, that seems rather unlikely unless we do something about it. I'll say it again; open your eyes, open your mouth, close your hand, and make a fist.

>>By FutbolFreak   (Thursday, 14 Aug 2003 21:09)

And if you don't like Good Charlotte, listen to something else(like Led Zeppelin). If they keep making this type of music, their popularity will drop drastically when another band totally revitalizes rock in the very near future. Or they could adapt, and make music that is much better than what they are making now. It's their choice.

>>By FutbolFreak   (Thursday, 14 Aug 2003 21:12)

Missie: remember Metallica and how fans started disliking them after they released their "black" album? When that happened, fans were getting pissed at them for making albums like Load and Reload that they thought wasn't heavy metal(I like to think of it as "metal blues" but that's my opinion). I think this is what some fans don't like about Good Charlotte, their reputation is in danger because all these poser fans are taking over and making Good Charlotte look bad. This won't be much of a problem, I think, because Good Charlotte's popularity will be very low by the end of this decade if this keeps up...

P.S.: For anybody who cares, check out my new profile. Cool picture, eh?

>>By FutbolFreak   (Thursday, 14 Aug 2003 22:52)

The success of GC is only convincing other talentless suckers that they can make music and get rich from it. I don't think I can stand another song by a group of losers led by a pair of twins who know how to copy other bands and dress it up as punk. A band doesn't need to stick to one style of music in order to remain popular, because if you like a few of their songs there's no reason to complain about the rest. Diversity of style is more likely to spread popularity and any fans who say that posers should be shot or whatever are wrong. It's posers who are keeping GC popular, and if you like GC you should appreciate that they would not be making any new music if it weren't for posers. I don't like GC because now they've started pandering to posers by not exploring new styles of music and being totally predictable. If only they wrote some original music, the posers would have a lower profile, but keeping posers away is becoming harder for bands that want to stay true to their roots. A band that can be defined by just one song is not diverse enough. In the past it was okay to write songs that were all the same, and you could get away with that because mostly the fans were stoned and similar music appealed to them. Back then posers taking over a fanbase was not as big a problem, but today it's something that can bring a band fame and also take it away very suddenly. If GC want to last, they don't need to get rid of poser fans but they need to make it more obvious that they have real fans.
FutbolFreak: You keep predicting a new awesome band that will revitalise rock - is this just a guess or do you know something specific? Yeah, nice picture.

I think there is a bit of a difference between GCs first albulm and Young and Hopless.

>>By Riot Girl   (Friday, 15 Aug 2003 10:40)

If you go onto their gc naptown site they have done a tribute to Kylie and its funny.

>>By Riot Girl   (Friday, 15 Aug 2003 11:14)

You guys are idiots. Godd Charlotte does NOT suck. Here's a quote if you don't believe me: "Can you sing like those twins in Good Charlotte? That's what I ask these kids who come up to me and say 'Fuck Good Charlotte; they suck.' 'Cause where I'm coming from, Good Charlotte don't suck at all. Those two sing like moutherfuckers. I can't sing like that." Do you know who said that? TIM ARMSTRONG. Yeah, that Tim Armstrong in Rancid. Guess who also says Good Charlotte doesn't suck? Fat Mike of NOFX. Oh now Rancid and NOFX are posers? I don't think so.

>>By Aime   (Friday, 15 Aug 2003 21:35)

Brazilman: If you look at it, it's pretty obvious that a band will come along and bring this pop rock era to a grinding halt. Look at 80's hair bands, those guys seemed unstoppable. Then, came along Guns n' Roses...
Aime: If you think about it, no one can sing like Good Charlotte because of a little something called a unique voice. Everybody(well, the good bands at least) has their own sound and that's what makes them distinguishable from everybody else. The big problem right now is that all rock bands are starting to sound the same.

>>By FutbolFreak   (Friday, 15 Aug 2003 23:47)

Good Charlotte should hurry up and produce another album they can't milk their current album much anymore and fans will get annoyed. Note:I am not a fan, I will never be a fan I am just hoping they can redeem themselves in some way. And does anybody here listen to Northstar? Great emo band.

>>By Emoboy2.0   (Saturday, 16 Aug 2003 00:55)

Good charlotte have too many "hit singles" for their album thats out now. they are on video #4 with the boys and girls song or whatever it is.

>>By Knoxville grl   (Monday, 18 Aug 2003 07:14)

I think Good Charlotte is working more on videos and not enough on a new album. Don't they know that it's time to try something new. Four videos in nine months? Isn't that enough? Can't they afford to not be on TRL for more than a month? If their next album doesn't break loose from the image they have been compared with, they're seriously in trouble.

>>By FutbolFreak   (Monday, 18 Aug 2003 19:56)

have u heard that gc song put your hand on my shoulder ?? it sux

>>By jack_is_hot6   (Tuesday, 19 Aug 2003 03:20)

I guess after having a video out for a couple of weeks (or even just days) their so called "fans" get bored of it really easily with it being on trl and all. so to erase the boredom, they make a new video and get the teenyboppers back again.

After all, teenyboppers are all about whats new and trendy right? Thus, gc makes new videos to keep up.

>>By Knoxville grl   (Tuesday, 19 Aug 2003 22:15)

This band will crash and burn, no discussion needed.

>>By BuddyChrist   (Wednesday, 20 Aug 2003 00:55)

jack_is_hot6:
yah that song does suck....
and the click is so fucking coppied from blink182...
cuz the beginnning of the click by good charlotte sounds the exact same as man overboard by blink182...

>>By *Nikki*   (Wednesday, 20 Aug 2003 02:19)

benji and billy r looking really good lately

>>By jack_is_hot6   (Wednesday, 20 Aug 2003 18:30)

>>By Alkalinetrio540   (Thursday, 21 Aug 2003 01:59)

>>By *Nikki*   (Thursday, 21 Aug 2003 02:25)

yes i agree with nikki

>>By Alkalinetrio540   (Thursday, 21 Aug 2003 02:47)

shut up pleez both of u

>>By jack_is_hot6   (Thursday, 21 Aug 2003 03:52)

Wow it looks like its Nikki and Alkalinetrio540's goal to hunt down jack_is_hot6 and annoy/make fun of her. I apllaud you two. Oh and that girls and boys video by Good Charlotte is really stupid except for the part where the old guy spikes the drink onto the car, now I want to do that. Other than that the video is bad and so is the music.
