And what do you mean by talent? Do you mean taste because I have that. And talent, I can make some pretty bitchin' drawings and can run faster than hell.

>>By SoccerFreak   (Saturday, 26 Jul 2003 02:21)

why did all of a sudden people that hate good charlotte come and ruin the discussion?!?!? dammit!!! oh!! and're saying you're a good charlotte fan...but then you agree with soccerfreak that they're only going to last five years?!?!?! hmmm.....makes no sense to me really...anyway...the whole five years bulls shit...sorry...i just think it's kinda of dumb...cuz i mean...i bet people have said that soooo many times about bands that have been making music for like 10 person.... benji and joel did grow up in a very strict and Christian house where they couldn't listen to any rock...i read in an article that benj and joel would go into their pantry and listen to metallica and nirvana thru headphones...hehehe how funny...but yea... if you still wanted to know...soccerfreak...i think she ment like music talent....not running talent or drawing

>>By Lake Of Blood   (Saturday, 26 Jul 2003 09:12)

lakeofblood: Just because i like Gc music doesnt mean i have to blindly agree with everything you say. And there is a space in my name.

Gc babe: Aaron was the original drummer, then he left (joined Wakefield) and Dusty joined, then Dusty left and now Chris is the drummer it isnt really that confusing.

Okay, maybe Good Charlotte will last more than five years but it won't be as huge as it is right now. It will probably be overshadowed by some other band(hopefully it will make better music). Their type of music will very likely change with them as they get older. But I still hope that Good Charlotte can make better music than what they have right now. But you might hate them when that happens. One man's hell is another man's paradise.

>>By **GC**BABE**   (Sunday, 27 Jul 2003 02:19)

o and soccer freak ya even if they didtn make it in 5 years... i would stilll love them ... so like watever.

>>By **GC**BABE**   (Sunday, 27 Jul 2003 02:20)

GC BABE you only seem intrested in them right now because they are big. You will probably change your opinion when the next flavor of the week thing comes along.Oh and I give them less than five years. I have a feeling once there is a new Flavor of the Week this band will just try and try and eventually give up and break the band up.

Ok. Lake of Blood
Gc Babe:Dusty has left and Chris did join quiet recently but there are loads of pics of him. Buy a mag.

>>By Riot Girl   (Sunday, 27 Jul 2003 20:51)

**GC**BABE**(you forgot to push caps lock), your grammar still sucks, and I didn't come here to bash at Good Charlotte, I came here to talk about the future of Good Charlotte. Times change and so does music. It's inevitable. What I want to know is if Good Charlotte is going to change with it. How many bands do you think went down the gutter when 80's hair bands were killed by Guns n' Roses? Good Charlotte isn't going to last any longer if it doesn't show some creativity. GC has popularity, now use it.

>>By SoccerFreak   (Sunday, 27 Jul 2003 21:19)

But there is one problem and MTV is to blame. There will probably never be another Beatles, Rolling Stones, or Led Zeppelin because the music industry are being really big @$$holes right now. The big music companies are telling musicians what to do, what to wear, and what to say. Hell, actors who make crappy music are making more money than underground bands that tour constantly only to be repaid in pennies. They all manipulate people's minds into looking like idiots that just came out of a garbage bin. Rock n' roll has never been at it's worst since 80's hair bands. It's because of this that we need to do something about this, because the record companies aren't going to do shit. So it's like System of a Down said, open your eyes, open your mouth, close your hand, and make a fist.

>>By cibomattofan   (Wednesday, 30 Jul 2003 21:03)

I don't mean to butt into the little feud, but you can't exactly say they will be forgotten in five years because, yes, maybe a majority of the fan base will forget about them but I doubt I will. I'll keep their posters and CDs and music on my computer and when I come across them, I guaruntee you I will refresh a piece of my past and listen to them. In five years, they'll be just as big to me as they always were.

>>By Shadow   (Wednesday, 30 Jul 2003 21:07)

Shadow you might listen to them 5 years from now but the kids falling the trends won't. As soon as the punk trend is out so is Good Charlotte, Simple Plan, The Ataris and all those other bands.

The fans that will remember Good Charlotte will very likely be the ones that actually bought their first album before the second one was released and don't plan on marrying them.

>>By SoccerFreak   (Thursday, 31 Jul 2003 22:14)

i agree with soccerfreak because if you call yourself a REAL fan, you just wont remember them because there popular at that time instead youll continue likeing them no matter what because a real fan likes them for there music not really looks

>>By Suyen X   (Friday, 1 Aug 2003 05:23)

ok...this is lakeofblood account got deleted....but.....ummm....i guess i wanted to say that suyen x true fans wouldn't like the band cuz they're "popular" or cuz of the looks of the people....but u have to understand too that some of the true fans also have oppinions about who's hot in the band....and some of us all we do have are oppinions...and the matter of our oppinion doesn't go into the matter of beign a fan of the RULES!!!....and also do any of you know a site where they have resent pictures of good charlotte....cuz even the official gc site has REALLY old to anyone who gives me a site....bye

>>By AcidTears   (Friday, 1 Aug 2003 08:15)

Riot Girl, I think that GC sign the contract that they wont tell ppl about them having girlfriends is maybe because if they do, the number of fans who want to marry them will decrease. that also means this: if number of girls who are in love with GC decrease, number of people who buy merch, record, and concert tickets will also decrease, which is very bad. If I were them, I'll probably do the same thing. Besides some insane obsessed fan can just try to kill or harm their girlfriends if they somehow found out where they live, or stuff like that.

>>By cyber_eyes   (Friday, 1 Aug 2003 14:03)

yesterday i listened again to "January" - Goldfinger feat. Benji Madden. It kinda reminds me of "Seasons". And the sound is sooo GC (of course, because John and Benji wrote it together). I think the twins are really good at writing love songs (this is not an insult at all :)

>>By cyber_eyes   (Friday, 1 Aug 2003 14:19)

Hey, I like that quote... open your eyes, open your mouth, close your hand, and make a fist. Thnx SoccerFreak, I think I'm gonna remember that for a long time. Yeah, I also wonder why producers make the image of an artist. If they need an artist that's in their minds, why don't they just look instead of making one. If I were the artist, I'd rather be fired instead. hey, who want's to be a Barbie doll! get naked, wear stupid outfits, dance like a psycho, just because of the will of the owner. artists who are ok with being a tool won't last. but i don't really agree that GC is one of them, however. maybe just a little, but not exactly one, at least not as bad a Britney Spears...who makes me wanna vomit

>>By cyber_eyes   (Friday, 1 Aug 2003 16:00)

I don't think Good Charlotte is a tool of the music industry just yet. I'm not a fan but most of the fans that most people think of when they hear Good Charlotte are litte teenage girls who want to marry Benji or Joel(they never mention the other two guys...). That's not very good for their image. If this keeps up, then the music industry will forget about all the good fans and make Good Charlotte do what they want them to do. That's what that quote is about, get off your ass and fight for what you believe in. And to AcidTears, yeah, some of the real fans do have their opinions about who's hot in the band... but it's really easy to tell between a real fan and a pathetic one.

>>By SoccerFreak   (Friday, 1 Aug 2003 21:02)

Speaking of which, anyone notice that all the girls that said they wanted to marry Benji or Joel and dominated something like 79+ pages are gone? This discussion is changing for the better...
