Unchosen 1:

Actually I don't care if they are punk or not but some of the fans think so, so I have to correct them. I listen to stuff outside of punk and emo. I am actually a pretty big Goo Goo Dolls Fans.

Wow, this board has gone totally down hill. It should just be ended because the discussion is far from being totally surrounded on Good Charlotte.

It doesn't really matter if you think Good Charlotte is Punk or not, theres no definition. You'll never win.

Let it go.

Thank you chosen1...I'm glad someone else in this room has a little sanity. And Emoboy...chill out! You make good points, but damn...anyways, I don't think that what we said is going to change other people's minds, so why fight it...ya know? Besides talking about Good Charlotte, how's everyone doing? :D

>>By skye   (Monday, 14 Jul 2003 22:17)

I don't like Good Charlotte. I find their music boring and repetitive. But i respect people for having their different opinions about this band. Positive or negative. There are some people here(more like 70+ pages of people) that need some serious teaching in music. Especially the 14 and under teens that like Good Charlotte only for their looks. So I am here to help.
The next time you enter a music store look for these albums:
-Metallica's black album
-Led Zeppelin IV
-Guns n' roses "Appetite for Destruction"
I might not be able to change your mind if you like Good Charlotte, but these albums may. Enjoy.

Oh yeah. How can I forget AC/DC's "Back in Black" and The Who's "Who's Next"?

>>By SoccerFreak   (Saturday, 19 Jul 2003 03:43)

hehe billy is so cool...and i think benji is losing weight...billy should quit gc and then join from a second story my opinion.

>>By fassw23   (Saturday, 19 Jul 2003 10:19)

hmm, i don't know how to classify good charlotte. I mean, they aren't as bad as the true posers. songs like "motivation proclamation" or "hold on" aren't bullshit. "girls and boys" also have some critics in it. in fact i'm so happy they made that one song. it did slapped my enemies on the face.

>>By cyber_eyes   (Monday, 21 Jul 2003 09:20)

Didn't this discussion have 75+ pages or something? Must have been all the teenage girls that called Benji "hot".

>>By SoccerFreak   (Monday, 21 Jul 2003 17:20)

It had 81+ pages. There was also quiet a lot of Billy was hott and Joel too lol

>>By Riot Girl   (Monday, 21 Jul 2003 20:29)

ppl who like gc cuz of tjeir looks are stupid...
you don't like a band cuz of there lookks you retards...!!!!!

>>By *Nikki*   (Monday, 21 Jul 2003 22:21)

From most of the posts, I'd take a shot that most of you who posted here are girls. But one thing I noticed is there are barely even a handful of actual fans here. Being a fan isn't about knowing everything in all the band members backround. That's called obsession. A true fan is someone who doesn't forever look at how good looking the members are or what they did. A true fan is someone who memorizes the lyrics and feels an emotional connection to their songs. I don't have to go to their concerts to be a fan. I don't need every CD and every piece of mechandise. I listened to Emotionless and it got me right in the heart. And once I found out that Joel and Benji's father did leave them (might have been a lie by my friend but I doubt it), I felt for them. And I've never even had a parent leave me. You can always tell who the real fans are at the concerts. They're not the ones always throwing their hands in the air. They're the ones who're sad or crying during sad songs, jumping during aggressive or rebellious songs, and smiling during the more upbeat ones. I think one conversation with Joel or Benji would be enough for me. I just want them to know that there is someone who has looked past their songs and into their hearts. Maybe some of you should do that, if you already somehow haven't.

>>By Shadow   (Monday, 21 Jul 2003 22:24)

*Tear*... Shadow, I couldn't have said it better myself, but I have to disagree about the memorizing the lyrics thing. Yeah, to understand the lyrics and finally feel like you're not alone, that other people are out there, facing the same problems that you're facing, is one thing...but, by going to the concerts and buying the cd's and all that stuff means that you support them to the fullest. And also different people have different ways to express their "fandom" (??word or not, whatever...). But yeah, that's all I wanted to say.

>>By skye   (Monday, 21 Jul 2003 22:39)

By the way, what happened? There're only 4 pages now? Hmmm, finally the retards that "LOVE/WANNA MARRY/etc... BENJI" are out!

>>By skye   (Monday, 21 Jul 2003 22:42)

ok..sorry...but i just really have to say that shadow...u sound really lame dude...most of the people that listen to good charlotte are kind of preppy girls that only really talk about who's the hottest guy in the band... i being a girl myself... kind of ticks me off....but anywho...I LOVE GC!!... and... yea... but i really don't think u have to be all emotion paddy waddy with the group... i don't even think that the girls do that dude... and also... even the band is all like jumpy during "sad" songs... but yea... sorry if i don't make sense... i'm kind of sleepy right now... *shrug*...that's about all... oh!! and skye y r the people that wanna marry benj retarted??? i mean i know they might be dumb blondes... but... actually nvm... they kind of r stupid...ok... i'm not making anymore sense... i'll just stop talking before i look like a bigger fool...ok... GC rules! and I'M AN OMPA LOOMPA (inside joke) *laughs*

>>By Lake Of Blood   (Tuesday, 22 Jul 2003 09:16)

ok... i just wanted to know who called good charlotte punk rock?!?!!? AAAAHH!!! you're making the words punk rock feel so small and pathetic...u bafooned people!! ok...that's all... oh!! yea...rn't they like pop rock...i would say they were pop rock...yea...well then again that's just me... oh!! and people that call them posers... i don't get that... cuz i mean... have they ever said they were punk rock??( and if they have i feel VERY stupid right now)...yea...that's about it.. ta ta!!

>>By Lake Of Blood   (Tuesday, 22 Jul 2003 09:26)

Shadow Benji and Joels father left them when they were 16. If you are so intent on listening to the lyrics their father is mention in many songs like the little things, emotionless, even young and hopless ect. (not 2 b mean or anything).

>>By Riot Girl   (Tuesday, 22 Jul 2003 20:35)

No I'm not lame. I can be funny. I can be a lot of things. Normally I'm what people want because I don't know what to be. Anyways, this is the Good Charlotte discussion. Not mine. But yeah you people who talked about mine bring up good points. Yeah I know they have different points of showing "fandom" and yeah it's good to support them to the fullest. But for some reason there are those people who are out there who just piss me off because they only love the best and most popular bands. And normally they like the songs but I mean they just LIKE the songs. You have to be able to do more than just like a song or a CD to be a true fan and not just a follower. So yeah, buying their CDs and shit would be good, too. But there's always a difference between being an individual fan and being a group follower. And yeah I know the songs they talk about their father in. My brother has all the CDs. I've read the lyrics to all their songs on too. But yeah at least you people corrected some of that carzy bullshit.

Riot Girl, do you have a screen name called RiotGirl? I know someone with that screen name.

Some stuff from me: s/n= Wierdo006 or ShadowBladez001

>>By Shadow   (Tuesday, 22 Jul 2003 22:25)

shadow there's a difference between actually being lame and SOUNDING/TALKING lame....

>>By Lake Of Blood   (Wednesday, 23 Jul 2003 08:44)

Shadow No. Im only Riot Girl on gnoosic

>>By Riot Girl   (Wednesday, 23 Jul 2003 10:01) it me or is this turning into a "let's diss someone for having an opinion" discussion...anyways...I'm actually really interested in their biography so does anyone know some websites that may have them? I heard the twins were raised in this really strict religious household where they could only listen to like, gospel or something...been there.

See, there's another reason why they're different from other bands. They don't make their stuff up. Their songs come from the heart. I admire Joel and Benji for expressing them like they're doing.

>>By skye   (Wednesday, 23 Jul 2003 23:27)

this discussion has lost it's meaning....poop...oh well....i'll just end my post thingie with GOOD CHARLOTTE RULES!!! ok....that's sounds better in my head..oh well...ta ta all

>>By Lake Of Blood   (Thursday, 24 Jul 2003 09:42)

If you go to the german Gc site, its funny because bacially its the same as here like weather they are punks or not and who is the fittest but in another language. So do Gc sing in german then?

>>By Riot Girl   (Thursday, 24 Jul 2003 12:10)

I give Good Charlotte 5 years. Tops. They are not going to last any longer than that at this rate. They are just a band that is extremely popular today and will be forgotten tommorow. Remember, the crowd never makes up their minds. Which is why I will never follow them(the crowd that is, Good Charlotte may actually make good music one day and turn me into a fan).

>>By SoccerFreak   (Thursday, 24 Jul 2003 20:51)

I think about 5 years too. They havnt really done as well in other countries as in America. They arnt popular to the preppys yet, though i think it is only a matter of time. In 5 years they wont be as "hott" anymore and probalely be married and will lose their 8-13 girls, they will grow up a find a bf that they know rather than a cute guy from the tv who doesnt know they exist. I think they will still have the fans that like them for there music though.

>>By Riot Girl   (Friday, 25 Jul 2003 10:37)

*rotfl* you wanna know something kinda ironic? even though it was the preppys that gave 'em a hard time in high school, they're the one that are mostly into them. funny how that turns around...

>>By skye   (Friday, 25 Jul 2003 20:16)
