I've got one message deleted for just some day ago... I was too mean... i think... i dunno why it was deleted.... anyway... nice to know someone does... heard an interview from Billy about what kind of guitar he plays and if he has seen any good movie lately and his advise to other guitarplayers... I think it was from a guitar magazine... I don't know really....

lol, these guys are a koke...punk my arse, they have no talent...do wanna be you...come on if you are going to try to be rebelliouse find something intellegant to rebell against, fuck me they are lame, they are you they dress like all you wanna be punk rockers, who think that their lyrics connect with you because you are a oppressed angsty teen, and then you go home in your parents big car to a big house and sit around watching tv being fed by your mother and complain about oh god I am so depressed my life sucks.....
Here ends the lesson

>>By vlad_dracula   (Saturday, 1 May 2004 02:48)

that's a lesson I've heard about... 10 000 times already and still I'm not saying that I do any of it... I like the lyrics, I can admitt that... I've translated the texts into swedish 'cuz some friends wanted me to, and I can relate to it... maybe not al of the songs, but some... some of the songs is Hold On, East Coast Anthem & Complicated ... Hold On is pretty much everybodys favorite... "Hold on if you feel like letting go, hold on it gets better than you know" that's one of the things that keeps me going even though I've got no friends... ECA I just love that song... comlicated... "You left us 1 little room and a black & white TV, 1 eviction notice and a bill 4 therapy"... I dunno why... but I do...

It do exist better band than GC... like Smile Empty Soul, Slipknot, Soil, Blindside, HIM (yeah, so what? I like the music...), Soilwork, the sounds, and many more... Korn, Disturbed, Incubus... not the kind of music GC makes... but I fell for 'em and I don't regrett it...

Are you trying to say that you have no friends who don't speak Swedish or the people who wanted you to translate the lyrics were imaignary? I have to say that I agree with vlad_dracula. What is it about your life that makes it worth listening to GC?
GC have a song called Complicated? Are they ripping off Avril Lavigne or what? I love that song (by Avril, that is). If GC have stolen the title... well, shame on them. Actually, shame on them anyway. They suck.
The bands you names are all absolutely terrible, except HIM. They're okaeey. Reall good bands are Nirvana, Coldplay, System of a Down, Linkin Park, Billy Talent and Queen.

>>By Flake 1.6   (Saturday, 1 May 2004 14:22)

well... i got some friends... but no one that I can trust... and those who I translated the texts too I've never met...

and Comlicated... I rather think it's Avril that has stole it from them... they made that song 2000...

music... that's why it's worth listening to GC, I love music and I don't know why I like GC but I do... And it's not that I listen to GC all the time, just some times a month... but still... they haven't helped me or anything but I like them... but the biggest reason to why I listen to GC is because of Joels voice... I like that voice.... somehow....

the bands i mentioned before... they were just a few of all good bands that I like... but I can't really understand how anyone can think Coldplay is good... I mean... they're not... I think they suck as much as Justin Timberlake or whatever his name is... you don't like GC, and I don't like Coldplay... And that works for me.... Queen is pretty good, and linkin park is awesome... SOAD isn't one of my favourites but they're okay.... Nirvana; look at my wall and you don't think I have that bad taste anymore... I dunno if you like more than those band you mentioned but on that wall there's posters on Nirvana, HIM, Linkin Park, Lost Prophet, Seether, Funeral For A Friend, Marilyn Manson, Dark Funeral etc...

>>By Mekko   (Saturday, 1 May 2004 18:22)

I know how you feel about your friends. I don't really trust any of mine, either. This lyrics explains it all: "If you open your eyes, you'll see the best you can do / is trust in your friends to lie to you." What is it that people like about misleading their mates? It hurts me so much when they do that. And yet I put up with it, despite the fact that I could find a million more people to be my friends if I wanted to. Since I've become popular, it's really opened my eyes to what gobshites friends are. I'm tempted to say that you're best off with no friends at all until you're grown up, so you can concentrate on preparing for adulthood. When you're young, you change your mind too much to really get along with anybody. I mean, my parents have been nicer to me than anyone else. And yet I despise them and generally just want them to leave me alone. Occasions when I actually want to spend time with my parents are so rare that they get suspicious when I want to do something with them. I don't think you can really learn to love someone, even in a platonic way, until your emotions are 100% stable. Like, someone touches you and you think they're special and before long you realise you were wrong. Life sucks in that way. Only a few adults have the guts to admit that childhood is the worst part of life. It's like being a prisoner, and a weak one at that. When you're grown up, at least you can fight back against everything in life that sucks...
I've never heard of Dark Funeral... Oh well. Coldplay have: awesome bass lines, catchy guitar riffs, excellent piano hooks, a really brilliant drummer and Chris Martin's voice is beautiful. Also those lyrics are so deep. GC have none of those things. They have whining. Justine Timbereservoir is comparable to Coldplay in absolutely no way whatsoever. Except he has a high voice. That's it. Coldplay's appeal is their music rather than their ability to dance like a loser. Coldplay rock. So do Nirvana, but in a different way. I am so in love with their lyrics. Kurt Cobain's voice sure as Hell wasn't beautiful, but it's perfect for those lyrics. I don't think much of his guitar-playing talent, but I think it's great the way he can make it sound good when really it isn't. It's like songs that sound heavier than they are. My favourite example is "Wollt Ihr Das Bett in Flammen Sehen" by Rammstein. Heh, Rammstein also rock. I'm not going to keep describing why my favourite bands rock. I think Lostprophets are pretty shocking. Funeral for a Friend are way better, but they're still not one of my favourites. Right now I'm really regretting buying "And Love Said No" by HIM. I don't like them that much and I kind of need that money... Okaeey, I'm just too poor. I should get a job.

someone who understands.... I don't have that much time to write right now... but thanx... I can't really believe that someone really reads what I write... I'm boring...

>>By Mekko   (Monday, 3 May 2004 19:24)

There are probably plenty of people out there who understand, although there are loads who won't admit it and loads who claim to understand when they don't. I have to say, Good Charlotte come across as the second type. They're music is pop, designed to appeal to a large audience of children/teenagers who think that their life sucks or Joel and Benji are hot. Admittedly, some fans do have bad lives, but Good Charlotte are not the answer... They'll steal your crediibility, and credibility will buy you a little bit of happiness.
<3 Flake

>>By Flake 1.6   (Wednesday, 5 May 2004 14:57)

you may be right.... I haven't thought about it that much... I like Joel's voice... that's why I listen to GC... they're not really my type of music... but I like 'em...

>>By Mekko   (Thursday, 6 May 2004 14:06)

good charlotte is pop music with a punk uniform! punk is a way of being, not a fashion statement!

if you're interested in music with substance check out nofx, propaghandi, bad religion, fifteen, subhumans, minor threat, dead kennedys. . .it's out there if you look!

>>By drowninginflame   (Thursday, 6 May 2004 18:46)

Let's be honest with ourselves, hardly anybody is interested in music with substance. The only good thing "real" punks ever do is promote animal rights, whereas pop musicians provide thousands of jobs for people around the world. They also keep millions of mindless and in some cases intelligent fans entertained. I like Avril Lavgine - where's the sin in that? The same applies to Good Charlotte. This music, although it is honestly not very meaningful, enriches people's lives and who is anybody to say that's a bad thing?
My only major complaint are that little girls drooling over them is sick. If you're guilty, sort yourself out. If your daughter is guilty, sort her out, whatever it takes. If little girls in your country fantasise over men 4 times as old as them, your society is falling to pieces. Shame on those girls and shame on Good Charlotte for not doing anything about it.

>>By Flake 1.6   (Thursday, 6 May 2004 19:17)

sounds good... really... I've nearly met 'em once, in denmark last year... but I was in the other end of the island...

>>By Mekko   (Friday, 7 May 2004 17:47)

animal rights? have you listened to any of the bands i mentioned? animal rights doesn't even enter into it!

the problem with the world around us is that everyone is interested in the packaging and not what's inside. . .and there are bigger issues out there than girls having crushes on older guys!

>>By drowninginflame   (Friday, 7 May 2004 20:13)

No, I've never listened to any of them and I don't want to either. If animal rights doesn't enter into it, what does? Good Charlotte are doing the world a favour, even if they are annoying a lot of people. What are these punk bands that you like doing other than making a noise which the majority of people find to be badly performed and unenjoyable?
I'm not interested in the packaging and I'm not interested on what's inside either. I want to know what's going to come out and how it'll affect me. I don't care if somebody doesn't write songs themselves, as long as it sounds good to me. If you go to a live concert, you go to see the songs being performed, not written. Hence the reason covers work... Please tell me what it is about the inside of the package that makes you so enthusiastic about it. At the end of the day, it gets dark. What's inside is only as human as I am.
"there are bigger issues out there" - yes, and let's let them stay out there, where they belong. The issue of sickening little girls is in here, so let's discuss it.

>>By Flake 1.6   (Saturday, 8 May 2004 09:39)

well, we've totally gotten off of the topic of good charlotte and music! so, lets discuss it, but not in here!

>>By drowninginflame   (Monday, 10 May 2004 23:32)

I agree with Flake 1.6.... GC has done the world a favour.... but it's also a shame that they've been called the "new punk"... they're not punk, they may like punk music, and dresses a bit like them, but the music isn't punk.... I don't really like punk but I think Rancid is good; and if I'm not way out of the line then they're punk... Tim was one of those who wrote lifestyles of the rich and the famous, and you all know how popular that was....

they're not punk, and I hope they stay this way...

>>By Mekko   (Tuesday, 11 May 2004 11:13)

Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous was really hypocritical, really poppish and really badly performed. Sorry, but it was. However, it was also punk. It's not really a song for Good Charlotte. It would have been better done 30 years ago by the Sex Pistols or the Who. It could have been a classic, but it was wasted on this terrible band. Oh well, such is the great waste that is the modern music industry.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Tuesday, 11 May 2004 20:25)

Yep. Mekko is right. Hmm Music needs substance, Flake 1.6. Welps if you wanna know, just check out the music, you can see they are fighting for OUR politcal rights and standing up for what they believe in, and for what WE believe in since our voice can't be heard, they get it out, and wonderfully at that. Their lyrics are impossible to compare with GC it'd be like comparing... ice ceam ... and dog shit? Yes.(dog shit being GC... for all you slows)

And Sk8a H8a it HURTS to look at what you've typed, almost makes me want to cry!
" ... been better done 30 years ago by the Sex Pistols..." Man I'm about to blow chunks just thinking about that one. : )

>>By nOel_x3   (Wednesday, 12 May 2004 01:27)

Holy shit Flake 1.6 I've just realized that you are a sick being, you know that?! What is wrong with you, you conceited little twit? I mean this isn't even about music anymore from where you are standing and telling everyone that you obviously don't care about anything except yourself and your undying love for posers. Just AH start caring. When you fuckin' grow up I hope you are never the one running any country, I hope you end up on the streets. And what are you? Like 11?

>>By nOel_x3   (Wednesday, 12 May 2004 01:34)

Wow, you are a nice person. Do you come from a broken home or did you just escape from a broken prison?
Why does music needs substance? It tends to live without it a lot of the time. Your posts don't have any substance but they're here all the same. Give me one reason music should be any different.
How are they fighting for our political rights? And whose political rights are they fighting for, exactly? Seems to me like they're fighting to fit into the "rich and famous" bracket so that their own political rights are so much better and more acessible. What have punks achieved in the way of political reform? Martin Luther King wasn't a punk...
Doesn't have to be the Sex Pistols. The Who would have been better. But I stand by my statement. It's a well-written song, but horribly performed. Why do you disagree?

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Wednesday, 12 May 2004 08:51)

Good Charlotte was one of the mainbands on the "Rock against Bush tour" last year... isn't that against the political world of today? or is it just me who really suck on this english thing and don't understand a shit?

I disagree with that cuz that song was the reason I fell for GC, I heard that song and thought "man, this is good shit, who's done it?" and now I know that GC done it, and I like it...

I still think GC is a really great band, 3/5 of the band are vegetarians, isn't that good for the animals? aren't they fighting for the animals? do they like bush? doesn't seems like that, and they're not the only one...

I don't think GC just wanna fit in the "rich and famous" thing... they don't really care about the money or whatever.... they do music cuz they wanna have fun...

>>By Mekko   (Wednesday, 12 May 2004 15:28)

Being on some tour doesn't do much good for people's rights. If it had, I'm sure I would have heard of it...
I really do believe that GC do it for fun. I was referring to the so-called punk bands of today.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Wednesday, 12 May 2004 18:14)

Got that right. I don't like Good Charlotte because they are fake. And do not say they aren't, they're hypocritical. First they say their punks and then when everyone starts calling them posers they say that they have never said that they were. Whatev. Also Yeah they are fighting for our rights, and if you wanna know how, why don't you check them out ? Eh, I gave GC a chance, and found out what they're about. And I don't like them.

>>By nOel_x3   (Thursday, 13 May 2004 00:36)

Coldplay are awesome! They've inspired a lot of bands with their combination of classic rock instruments and piano. I think they're all extremely talented musicians (Will Champion is just amazing) and the songs are wonderful. But I guess if you don't like that sort of thing, you won't like Coldplay. However, they're perfectly capable of performing different styles of music. They even did a punk version of Trouble - it's on their Live 2003 DVD. By the way, if you don't have that DVD, you should definitely get it. It's totally worth it. Okaeey, that paragraph is not really about Good Charlotte so I'll post it on the Coldplay board too.
I think the problems with liking Good Charlotte's music are A) Good Charlotte fans get stereotyped as idiots (just look at some of the ones on this board) even though I know you're not and B) You're closing your eyes to other good musicians, like Coldplay...

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Thursday, 13 May 2004 13:08)

you both make good points

>>By Vavin   (Thursday, 13 May 2004 18:16)

Hey Sk8a H8a, havnt spoken to you in like a year...........since emo, umberto, n Knoxville girl.................
I think your still wasting your breath, because if you like gc you are going to like them until you grow out of them.

>>By Riot Girl   (Saturday, 15 May 2004 01:17)

I agree with Riot Girl... if you once started to like them, then you can't stop... that's how I feel...

>>By Mekko   (Saturday, 15 May 2004 11:55)

and btw... Sk8a H8a... not to be rude or anything but... is it just on this board a fan gets stereotyped? there's pleny of other bands that's even worse than Good Charlotte... I can even say that some should say the same thing on Coldplays board.... It totaly depends on what kind of music you like....

there's some guys in my class that listen to heavy metal and they think GC is overreligious bastards.... and so wha`t? everyone has their own taste of music... I like Slipknot, SOiL, Killswitch Engage, Fear Factory and whatever... I don't think you have a good point when you say that GC fans don't listen to other bands... I'm a big fan, and I listen to alot of other musicians; maybe not what you think is good but I like them and I think they're good...

>>By Mekko   (Saturday, 15 May 2004 12:45)

(: mekko thoes are some of my favorite bands to
