Scum is actually S.C.U.M. (Socially Corrupt Underfed Murderers), a little-known punk band which is way better than GC. GC are nothing like punk should be, so I'll be damned if I know how they got called punk. Oh wait, maybe it's because their fans (those who call them punk that is) are so ignorant of punk that they'll believe whatever the media tells them about GC. They are just pop disguised as punk by a little bit of faking about rebelling against the rich. It makes me sad that the kind of things punk is supposed to be against are actually personified by GC. What a shame for punk music to come to such a sticky mainstream demise.

Good Charlotte are the best - I've never seen them live but I'd love to. I look up to their wonderful lyrics and the fine music. Good Charlotte truly inspired me not to go jump off a bridge because my father left me. The next day I was committed to a mental hospital and I've been there for 8 months now, listening to Good Charlotte every day (in my head). My room has padded walls and a lot of vomit on the floor.

No I am refering to the fact that the American Army has a lot of short names that originated from full sentences. Fugazi (fucked up got abused zipped in) is one, SCUM is another, if I am not wrong...... They used these words in bad situations as some sort of secret code...

I don't know why people who are hating on GC even come in here and bash them. We all know they're the best in the whole freakin world and just because y'all aren't as mad rockin as them, call hate on them!! I dont talk smack, its not my place, unless i know what im talking about. In this case I DO. Good charlotte isnt punk. they dont completely suck at WHAT THEY DO, but they dont do punk. they do pop-punk, blink stuff. Then again, a vast majority of punk bands suck too, since all that they are really playing are three power chord progressions and screaming. It was cool in the biggining, with the pistols, ramones and such, but recently its been overdone. nOt to say that the more modern post-punk like NOFX and AFI suck, they rock, but they get more technical than most. Good charlotte is somewhere in between and really are only catering to a mainstream audience, therefore "pop-punk".

I'm not gonna say that GC is the greatest thing ever, but I don't really care whether they are or not. The fact is, GC doesn't affect punk, it only affects goofy kids like all of you on this board. It seems to me that you have nothing better to do. Why don't you just ignore GC if you hate them so much? If you were really into punk so much that you have to exclude anything some what popular, than why aren't you spending your time listening to your music, and going to shows, and doing whatever. If you guys are so much more punk than everyone else, than why are you all on the computer so much? I think you are all just a bunch of little bitchs. You bitch about everything you can think of. You may think GC suck, but I don't see you on TV making a name for yourselves. You can say they aren't punk, and yet you've never met them.
