in my experience as a light-weight performer and song writer, Gino has always been one of my main influences. I am an African-American, however Gino Vanelli is an inspiration to what I have done musically.

No offence but I've barely heard of this guy before....What kind of music does he write?
Totally interested, fabulously talented, wishful and in a christmassy spirit,

Having performed professionally for 15 years, I can honestly say the most inspiring music to perform is Gino's for me. More of
everything I look for in performance satisfaction is found in his music. He is the greatest "pop" performer/writer/composer of my
time. Nothing is quite as beautifully arranged and composed as his rare and impossible to find "Pauper in Paradise". I get chills
just remembering younger days listening to it when life was still new and exciting for me. To this day I still sing all of the pieces of it
I can remember at work. If only the world would wake up to the deep deep ocean of Gino's love and the lust he must have to live.

I've heard of some new band called The Vanellis. Can anyone else verify this?

Gino use to come to the Wiskey to see my band in the 70s. El Chicano we knew of each other and I became a huge fan of his music. Last time we spoke was on the lot of A&M records. I would really love to see him perform again. I heard he moved to Portland can anyone verify. Thanks

I was introduced to Gino's music back in the seventy's and have been in awe of his beautiful voice and talent through the eighties! I think the last hit I remember was "Love of My Life". I used to sit in the living room alone, afterworking all day, and listen to Brother To Brother, Gist of the Gemini, and more, and dream about someday meeting him. I am now 46 years old and have been wondering what ever happened to him.... Some years back I made the mistake of selling all his albums in a garage sale. I am in the process of replacing them with CD's. What an inspiration he has been in my life!

I loved his music from the start. I haven't seen his albums on CD. Does anyone know if they're available? jls4@prodigy.net Thanks!

GINO'S PROLIFIC. WHEN I WAS IN JR. HIGH IN THE LATE 70'S OUR BAND WOULD PLAY BROTHER TO BROTHER. I ALMOST HAD THAT GUITAR SOLO DOWN, OF COURSE I HAD TO ALTER IT SOMEWHAT BUT NONE THE LESS IT'S A TREMENDOUSLY POWERFUL AND FUN SONG TO PLAY. I KNOW PLAY THE BEST OF GINO CD FOR MY CHILDREN. I WOULD GO SEE GINO IF HE WAS TOURING IN MY AREA.

I first heard Gino on a local radio station ( Piccadilly Radio. UK ) back in the 70's, the track was " New kick for 76 " from "Gist of the Gemini and from that moment I was HOOKED. I had to wait a week to get the album (being in the UK in the 70's was a pain to get imports) but the wait was well worth it. I was amazed at the diversity of his music Jazz combined with Classical I had never heard music this good. I think he lost the plot some what when he released Black Cars/ Big dreamers never sleep, although his performence on the albums was as usual exelent my interest wained. I was moved to tears when I listened to "Crazy life" from "Live in Montreal" Sadly I never got to see Gino live but this album makes up for it (thanks Gino) If any of you would like to e-mail me to talk about Gino etc here is my address.. djdisuza@yahoo.com Cheers Tony

I believe Gino Vanelli and his brothers are musical geniuses. I saw him perform in San Antonio, Texas over 20 years ago. I still listen to Pauper in Paradise whenever i want to go to a magical place. His voice is phenominal.

My sisters live in Tampa, FL and saw Gino in concert about a year ago. They said he was fantastic and sounded fantastic and still looked wonderful! (No long curls though! :( ) I just bought a nifty little CD, Ultimate Collection available at www.hip-o.com that has 18 songs from most of his albums. The official Gino sight has most of his albums on cd too at www.ginov.com. I'm an artist and his music has influenced some of my best work! Pauper in Paradise is one of the most perfect albums ever made! But then was Brother to Brother and Storm at Sunup! I actually got to meet him once and he autographed my Black Cars album (which I really liked!) My husband was a great sport and took my to a record store where he appearing after Black Cars was released. Unfortunately I just froze and hardly was able to say anything! Nice to know there are others out there that remember his music and still love it!

It was way, way back in 1979 that I first saw Gino Vanelli perform live here in Detroit. I had just started playing the drums and a couple of my musician buddies were going to see Gino Vanelli--it was the "Brother to Brother" world tour. They asked if I wanted to go with them. At the time, I thought Gino was just some pop/sex symbol singer. My friends assured me that Gino and his band were serious musicians. Feeling skeptical, I went to the concert.
Before the show began, the audience amazed me. Never in my life had I seen so many beautiful women in one place at the same time. This underscored my perception that Gino was merely a pretty boy showman. The band came on stage and Gino was wearing an all-white outfit with his huge mane of curly hair. The women started screaming and I rolled my eyes thinking, "Here we go..."
Eight bars into the first song I began to realize this wasn't what I expected. By the end of the first song I was smiling ear to ear. By the end of the night I was absolutely blown away, awe-struck. I have been a Gino Vanelli fanatic ever since then.
Gino and his brothers are masters of the art and craft of creating music; perfect musicianship, superb arranging, flawless orchestration, moving lyrics, slick grooves, awesome feel, state-of-the-art recording and deep emotion. I am thankful for the years of enjoyment that Gino's music has brought me. I strove to become a better musician by listening to Gino. While I've never met the man, I would be honored to do so at some point in my life.
Gino, please start touring again!

My boyfriend and I are huge Gino Vanelli fans. We really dig the CD, "Storm at Sunup", and his new CD, "Canto", which should be out in the US, shorly. We watched Gino's Special, "Canto", on CBC, June 18th, @ 9 p.m., and thought Gino was fabulous! His music has changed for the better, and Canto should be his best CD, ever! If Gino happens to read this, my boyfriend, and I hope to hear from you via e-mail
With Warmest Regaurds, Gail & Pete
