Finally a new scientific rapper. Like throwing Mos Def, Busta Rhymes, early Eminem, and Pharoah Monch in a blender. I love the old school beats mixed with science. All y'all who think this guy is a Eminem clone abviously don't know what they're listening to.

>>By moxXx   (Thursday, 14 Nov 2002 23:28)

whoever moxx thinks he is trying to clown eyedea, obviously has never heard him bfore because he wouldn't be posting some of the worst written shit i have ever had the misfortune to read on a computer screen if he had. Don't ever clown eyedea's raps until you know what the fuck you are talking about, because it is quite clear you are from buttfuck nowhere where will smith and mase reign supreme. I wish eyedea read what you wrote and gave you a piece of his mind because you wouldn't know what hit you. I will say again, dont post shitty raps trying to clown someone who is miles ahead of you. that is all i have to say. Eyedea and abilites and RHYME SAYERS, keep doing what you are doing, and try to work with adeem more.

Well i checked Eyedea at the blaze battle 2000. He killed two of my favorite new rappers: Ali Vegas and Shells. i got to admit this cat can freestyle his voice my sound like Em.But he is still sick. Give him props.

ps: by the way he was champion of the battle.

This whole eyedea and RHYME SAYERS shit is hot. I am still tryin to find more. His flow is tight and anyone tryin to diss just doesnt understand what he is tryin to do. So it aint top forty but it is REAL HIP-HOP YA'LL. I heard some roots shit he did with just a drum and an acoustic guitar, it was nice. Peace

ive been into oliver hart since the start, his track juss happened to stumble into my shopping cart. he fit in with exactly my type of hiphop, i was already into the def jukies, and here eyedea came trottling along with a dope ass song, got me thinkin "damn, this is bomb." its coo to see more people get into him, cuz when i first heard em, no one aint even heard of the kid. he's been my favorite for a while now, so im happy that kidd is gettin his word out. i'm whelmed, if theres such a word, that yall are gettin the "eyedea", this man is for other emcees to fear, cuz theyre jus gon get scratched and burned, and give him his three cheers, because they are sure as hell well-earned.

>>By TENA   (Tuesday, 26 Nov 2002 05:04)

eyedea..no doubt is one of the best emcees out there. He's gota nice voice, remains fresh and i feel he can rip anyone at a battle but he's not really good at spitting on tracks..there are some nice ones like On This I Stand but my personal favourite remains Big Shot.

>>By Alex   (Friday, 29 Nov 2002 05:48)

i am from minnesota and have been listening to eyedea for a while, he is definitely one of my favorite rappers, he is an awesome freestyler and if you truly listen to his lyrics he is an amazing lyricist and his stories are fucking awesome, alex doesnt like his tracks, thats cool, its all a personal preference, i love his tracks, on his second album he did everything, made the beats, rhymes and produced. i got to talk to him at a show, he is awesome. i also dont think he sounds like eminem at all, listen to them and both and you will notice the extreme contrasts in style and sound. if you guys can appreciate eyedea and his skills, check out atmosphere and also unkown prophets, more underground TRUE hip-hop from minneapolis.

>>By BMC   (Monday, 2 Dec 2002 23:51)

Hmmm, what can I say. He sounds like he's running out of breath worse than Talib Kweli. He's nice with battling, but lacks breath control or mic finesse. He has never come off as more than a battle emcee to me. Would I listen to him? Yes. Would I buy an album? Hell no. I totally think copywrite is the superior white rapper out right now.

>>By Eeky P   (Wednesday, 4 Dec 2002 00:47)

yo, anyone know how many albums this cat eydea has sold?

>>By killaB   (Wednesday, 4 Dec 2002 17:19)

Eyedea is the maaaaan! His flows bring new ideas and questions to my mind.

Im gonna see Eyedea in Sac this weekend. I'll take pics and leave a link. I'll try to do something funny in the picture like jump on his back or something. He's sick tho.. I can't wait to see him rip it on stage.

Eyedea created a new genre of hip-hop. He is a pure genius or just completely out of his mind. But never-the-less its incredible music. Spread the love,

Just another hip-aholic...

Eyedea is a very inspirational MC and person...My experience meetin him was a very good one 'cause it's dope when you meet someone who modivates and inspire in music, and then you find out on top of that they're a dope person too
Much Love to Eyedea

MC BLaZe

>>By BLaZe   (Wednesday, 25 Dec 2002 08:37)

I've seen eyedea twice live and talked to him both times. He is one smart mofo not to mention they greatest rapper out right now. His albulm first born is dope, and he wrote most of that shit when he was 17, and he said he was fucked up during those times. RSE is the sickest, but you cats should check out galapagos 4 if you want some real hip hop

"some say i'm a genius others say that i'm crazy but you know i be from the wierd side"

Eyedea's ryhmes r the shit, Eyedea is the shit
this cat does it all.
he got MAD SKILLZ

>>By capedcrusadr   (Saturday, 28 Dec 2002 23:16)

Eyedea is simply the greatest and most original lyricist out there. By far the shiftiest freestyler imaginable, and strangest character in the game, without becoming freakishly undesirable... too sum it up, anyone who doesn't like/appreciate/listen to Eyedea should rot and burn in Hell's Playground.

p.s. Slug is also hip hop's greatest poet, period.

>>By coons   (Sunday, 29 Dec 2002 22:02)

Please never compare Eyedea "the lyricist" with Eminem "the movie star"... it's just not going to happen, and besides, he sounds NOTHING like Eminem.. for all you geniuses that made the connection that they're both white, GET OVER IT. Eyedea has and can destroy Eminem anywhere, anytime. So for all you fuckin' TRL fags who only listen to the top of the pops, go fuck your dads and eat a sandwich.. oh yea, and kill yourselves. thank you

>>By coons   (Sunday, 29 Dec 2002 22:08)

Damn whats with all the hostility? Relax cats act like there can't be two dope white emcees at the same time. I really didn't like Em when he first got on the scene, but now I can listen to his music for what it is and that entertainment and in some songs there are hidden messages. I first heard of Eye on the blaze battle when I was blazeD!!! I thought up the name Idea for myself awhile back and was kind of salty when I heard this cat say his name was Eyedea. What the? but its cool now I really like this guy and I don't even think they sound the same Em and Eye, only thing similar is that their names both start with an E!

Peace and Godbless!

>>By Paulyfingers   (Monday, 30 Dec 2002 04:29)

Eyedea has been an inspiraton since he won the Scribble Jam, It was great to see him murder Shells in the finals. And in case you were under a rock and didn't see the Blaze Battle, Eyedea also destroyed E-Dub in the semis, and Ali Vegas in the first round. This kid can flow to any beat but he also does it with some of the deepest lyrics in the game. Not to mention he hits more punchlines than anyone I have ever seen including "slim shady". So if you claim to know REAL hip-hop stop comparing the two because for one Em has Dre to lay beats down to make his more often than none whack lyrics sound good. Eyedea has abilites, who may be ill in his own respects but Dre he is not! And 2 This isn't Fucking 8 Mile, in a battle with a real emcee/poet Marshall dosen't stand a chance. Get out there and Pick up some Eyedea, NON-Phisxion, or Necro and forget about the X's, Jiggas, and Ja Fool. Lets get back to real Hip-hop. Please!

>>By Revolution   (Saturday, 4 Jan 2003 21:46)

eyedea is the man. no doubt.

>>By kool   (Sunday, 5 Jan 2003 01:11)

ya'll talk about MC's and battle rappers but i thnk that you're kind of conduluding the fact that eyedea is more of a "poet and philosopher." Sure he is fucking amazing at freestyling, the best actually, but his words she be taught in schools. If educational systems were to sit down for an hour everyday and play first born or the many changing faces we would save text book money, give kids more social interaction, and teach all of the preliminary philophosy. fuck demeaning him of his well deserved recognition but keep it underground. If you have a conversation with some one about theories and shit recommend eyedea they deserve it. Watch out for my man Focus, he's right up there too. comin' from 503, peace.
