| Discussion: Evanescence Man this band rocks. Their album Fallen only just came out in the uk. Sounds to me like Papa Roach mixed with Linkin Park. Considered Gothic and loads of publicity cos it got to number 7 in US charts. I think it is considered gothic cos it has a woman doing some vocals. It is not in the gothic style though. Gothic is bands such as theatre of tragedy (especially old stuff like album aegis), Nightwish or The sins of thy beloved. Yes. Evanescence is awesome. To me they sound sort of like Lacuna Coil. Never heard of them? Check them out, they're awesome. I'm sure you'll like them if you like Evanescence. I just bought the Evanescence CD the other day. Sofar I'm enjoying it very much. Any other/different opinions of the band? This is a great band, it is not pop, rock, or pop rock....its.....goth rock, and.......something else that i can't put my finger on...its greatness. this band is so awseome...i love (bring Me to Life) obviously, and everybod'y fool. Paul McCoy from the bring me to life video is a pretty nice piece of flesh. I've managed to download some tracks off the net by Evanescence recently, but i don't understand what they're actually from. There are too many (i have about 8) to be B-sides, but i thought fallen was their debut album. They seem to have 'Origin' attached to them, but i know of no album by that name. The tracks include Lies, Exodus, and Eternal. >>By Jack_is_hot_12 First off to clear things up on the actual sound of there music. They are totally a rock band and there sound to put in the right choice of words is epic, dramatic, dark rock. Also this is not there frist album and if you know anything about them they had a older album put out a long time ago. It just never got noticed. It was a limited-edition cd titled Origin and came out in 2000 it was a Little Rock independent label called Big Wig entertainment, it is now out of print. I for one have a lot of respect for evanescence cause I for one write songs as well. There song writing is very good and intellgent.
