Erm.. Whoever said the whole Rites Of Spring, Embrace, Fugazi, etc thing, did you just summarize fourfa.com, or what?

Anyone like Sunny Day Real Estate?

>>By applexcore   (Tuesday, 18 Nov 2003 01:23)

Sunny Day Real Estate is good but for some reason not my cup of tea.

I love Emo music, but a lot of people make fun of it and it sucks... but I'll stick up for it as long as I live cause I pretty much live for Emo... it's the best thing created ever... and I love Emo bands... and Emo boys... heehee...

>>By Kittie5644   (Tuesday, 25 Nov 2003 05:25)

I just like being able to relate to music. And if the music I relate to best happens to be emo, so be it.

>>By punk_child_8713   (Friday, 5 Dec 2003 03:59)

Well, screamo is sort of a mix between metal and emo... well, there's a lot of screaming... so yeah... I like screamo, it's good. Like A static lullaby, they rock!

>>By Kittie5644   (Saturday, 13 Dec 2003 16:49)

I like screamo too, but I don't really like emo or metal.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Saturday, 13 Dec 2003 20:53)

Boo Hoo. I have a shitty life. Waahhh I bet everyone cares too! ....That's what emo is.

>>By Beavis the Wise   (Saturday, 13 Dec 2003 23:06)

Damn straight! It's good to know there are people who aren't as fortunate as you so you can laugh at their pain.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Saturday, 13 Dec 2003 23:28)

I wouldn't say I laugh at the pain. You really like to take what people say the wrong way don't you, Sk8a H8a? What I laugh at about emo is how so many people like this kind of music. I'm a semi fan of some "emo" bands but damn. It's not the best shit. People worship it and it's just a mediocre fad. It'll die out in a few years.

>>By Beavis the Wise   (Sunday, 14 Dec 2003 02:15)

I agree with punk_child_8713

>>By Jackthepumpkinking   (Monday, 15 Dec 2003 00:02)

Well, i agree with Beavis the Wise. Jack the Pumkin King is a sack of chicken shit. When my kingdom rises the pumpkin king will be a serf in my farms. I'll force him to cook me pumpkin pies in exchange of his own life.

>>By Steel Immortal   (Monday, 15 Dec 2003 01:20)

God! I'm so WISE!!!

>>By Beavis the Wise   (Friday, 19 Dec 2003 01:04)

thanks Jack. SOMEONE agrees with me.

>>By punk_child_8713   (Sunday, 21 Dec 2003 05:02)

I like to laugh at the pain... That's the great thing about emo.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Sunday, 21 Dec 2003 18:18)

Emo isn't about whining. People just assume it... but that's because they're judgemental. They hear one Emo band and they assume it's like every other one. And even if Emo did complain... it's not like it's the only type of music that does... every goddamned band complains about something. Anti-Flag for example- they say that Emo sucks cause they whine... well, all they do is whine about the government and whine about emo people whining... it's all a bunch of crap. And with Emo bands, they're just being true to themselves and their fans. It's not okay to judge them or their fans because I'm sure they put up with a lot more crap then anyone else... so if you don't like it, well then don't... but don't fucking whine about how much you think it sucks, cause not everyone feels that way.

>>By Kittie5644   (Tuesday, 23 Dec 2003 06:51)

I agree totally with kittie

>>By Jackthepumpkinking   (Wednesday, 24 Dec 2003 22:46)

EVERY band whines? I wouldn't say that's true. There are loads of great bands that can play great music without whining. But the thing about emo is that it's petty whining. At least Anti-Flag's whining is on a larger level, rather than about their own personal problems. And it doesn't make everyoen else depressed.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Thursday, 25 Dec 2003 00:22)

No not really emo does complain about their personal problems but that is what people can relate to and people can also relate to anti-flag but not on a personal level. Some people like to be able to relate to the bands you listen to

>>By Jackthepumpkinking   (Thursday, 25 Dec 2003 04:01)

I've had enough of this - stop comparing emo to Anti-Flag. You're making me look like an Anti-Flag fan. I don't like them either... Being able to relate to someone who has your own personal problems only serves to remind you that you have these problems - not cool.

>>By Sk8a H8a   (Thursday, 25 Dec 2003 15:38)

Could sombody please discribe emo for me?

>>By Kimmy   (Monday, 29 Dec 2003 21:12)

ok so its not cool to know that other people have the same problems as you. It helps you deal with these problems.

>>By Jackthepumpkinking   (Tuesday, 30 Dec 2003 00:51)

There isn't anything wrong with 'whining' about personal problems anyway. Like, my friends that don't like emo back themselves up with comments like "anyone can bitch and cry about stuff all the time" (usually they're referring to DC), but the fact of the matter is that these people (who do b* and whine) are telling us about problems that we've had, too. They remind us that we all go through the same crap, and quite frankly listening to music that we can relate to makes us feel like we know a little more about the artist... like we've shared something with them. However lame that sounds...

.Kimmy.

Check page one if you wanna read some about what emo is. There are a few descriptions and band examples.

:o)

>>By poachkn   (Wednesday, 31 Dec 2003 08:55)

eh i totally agree poachkn you took the words right out of my mouth

>>By Jackthepumpkinking   (Thursday, 1 Jan 2004 05:19)

Okay, so anyone who has gone through the same things as these emo guys can identify with them and each other. So you'd like the music, even if it's not very well made. Fair enough. Am I the only one who hasn't gone through the same things as these emo guys? Or are these things going to happen to me some time in the future?
