Anyone who says it sucks simply can't appreciate good music. Emo is well beyond rad, and is also a very distinguished style of music. emoboy: I'd also like to know this board was started. Bands include Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, and Boy Sets Fire. >>By Emoboy2.0 Emo is a term made up by some journalists, who didn't see the term hardcore fit any more for some more melodic"hard" bands, but also didn't see the term "indie Rock" fit for it, since that also seemed to grabb some more slower bands, with even more melodic music.. in the years time the term Emo began to be used for more and more music, which makes th term totally empty... what now is figured "emo" has quiet a resemblance what was before Indie rock, actually when you listen to the older albums of for example Sebadoh or Dinosuar Jr, you will find that the would now be filled as being Emo, or emo core... For me it therefor is just a lame sales term to give the idea of immer change in music business which is not revolving, but repeating: a new coat for the same person.... not meaning that I don't like any of this so called "Emo" bands, I only dislike the term. To be short: isn't every music emotional? Seems to me that these labels given to music always run short in the end.. Ask Juno if they consider themselves Emo, and they will laugh you in the face and ask you what the hell is emo.. The same for loads of the bands (Appleseed Cast, Dismemberment Plan etc etc) that are being called Emo at the moment.. they don't consider themselves Emo.. I went to go see them in concer but they cancelled them at the place they were supposed to play like an hour before they went on.
