Loved it !

She is an artist to look out for.

Also look for her on the next Lord of the Rings movie soundtrack.

Sounds a bit like Bjork but better...........

I have to agree completely with the last comment on her similarity to Björk, but don't hold it against me when I say that Björk flatters me a little more than Emiliana - but while watching the mgm film 'Pumpkin' - i questioned rather it was Björk or not for about the first stanza of the song - then I realized it wasnt.

the track 'gollums song' is amazing-her voice is so well suited to the lyrics and the mood of the song. completely different from other songs though-the most amazing voice i have ever heard!!

The greatest female vocalist of this generation in my opinion, and it is utterly remarkable that she is all but unrecognised. Yes, she sounds like Bjork, but Bjork aint a patch on this icelandic/italian goddess of my unworthy heart. Buy her music.

I'm in love with her voice

>>By Ranzel   (Monday, 17 Feb 2003 03:40)

Her words, her heart, her soul, all poured out in a liquid gold that we call music,

From the melancholy Dead things, to the upbeat Loosen up, and everything in between, Emiliana has become my new obsession... Buy the CD, Well worth every penny!

Emiliana has a wondrous voice that captures the essence of the music, in "Gollums song" she acts out the hardship and loneliness of the dismal creature Gollum/Smeagol. And his journey through moralizing his life and how he had not one true friend. And also talks about Gollum will in the end "Be what I will be". It shows that everyone is "Lost" and his previous life with his family and friends. I give Emiliana two big thumbs up and urge you to buy her CD, if anyone wants to talk more and has msn add me at Heffelepalump@hotmail.com

Great singer.I love Gullums Song. She has a wonderful voice that no singer that i have ever heard has.She makes songs sound more darker or happier then most singers.

WOW! She has just moved to the top of my list for female voices!

I love her. She is very different from Bjork, but I think they have in common the freedom that I think must have everyone in Iceland, ´cause they do a lot of good things and they are free when they are making art. Emiliana has a beautiful voice, very sweet, and strong. I love the feeling that she has when she sings.

I've always loved Bjork, and when I heard Emiliana's rendition of If You Go Away, in the Movie Pumpkin, I completely thought it was Bjork until I was told differently. Also, being a devoted Tolkien fan, I believe that she did capture gollum's sadness in Gollum's Song. I highly reccomend this cd to anybody who enjoys Bjork, or simply good music. :o)

I saw Emiliana in the summer of 2001, she was on tour with Dido and Travis. She was the opening act, but I thought she was the best. After seeing her, I downloaded her album, and began listening to her religiously. When I listen to her sing covers like if you go away, I believe what she is saying. That song in particular I understand, and I appreciate her for singing, it helped me to feel better. She's my favorite artist, and someday I might have to make her my wife

I was crushed to find out that a MixCD someone had made for me that had Emiliana Torrini songs on it was stolen, because those songs were the best ones on there! I thought i had lost the cover but I found it !
Now i can go retrieve the lost songs. (I couldnt remember who the artist was) Her voice does have a hint of Bjork -ness to it, but it is definately her own. People asked me all the time"is this new bjork, i havent heard this one yet!" And I had to say, NO! its not! Ive only heard Unemployed in the summertime, Fingertips, tunafish, and sea people, but I cant wait t hear more!!!!!!

alwegva,

this is Matteo (friend of Dan from NY),

Emiliana and I met 2 years ago when she was in Italy at the Pistoia Festival, she was very nice to me, she knew I was going to her gig and she gave me a backstage pass, she was great and a bit scared but she sounded fantastic. Now I have moved to the states and I am trying to keep in touch with her but she must have changed her cellphone number. Please when u hear from her, can u tell her that Matteo (I bought a glass batterfly for her in Pistoia) is looking for her. My email is matteo@matteotrisolini.com, Thank you very much, Matteo

"fingertips" is the most beautiful thing i have ever heard. can listen to it forever.

>>By albena   (Sunday, 22 Jun 2003 18:11)

Emiliana has one of the most emotional voices I've ever heard. I just hear her voice and melt. She's also very nice looking. I'm heading to London and I heard she lives there? If I ever meet her, it would seriously make my life happier. I'll be looking out for her! And I hope that the album comes out soon!

... i'm just dying to see both bjork and emiliana torrini together ... singing
together ... that could be an extraordinary utopic moment, as well as listening to
pavarotti and bjork singing together "isobel" ... imagine that.

>>By solar   (Thursday, 26 Jun 2003 06:22)

and thank you very much!

Hi to all Emiliana lovers

How true, that Emiliana has appeared in this world without nearly enough recognition. Aside from the 2nd and 3rd tracks of her Love-Science album, her songs are beyond beautiful and magical. Her tender voice and the atmospheric and sad music, mixed with good grooves make this album a special autumn bloom in a pile of gray rocks. I love her down-to-earthness and seriousness, as well as her sexual irony (Fingertips: Its all about masturbation!). I as a musician would love to do a project with her, and hope her career goes on for a long time. She is gorgeous, hot and completely unique!

I am sure that I saw a movie that played "If You Go Away" during the end credits. I can't for the life of me remember what film it was.

Does anyone know?

>>By jaymo   (Wednesday, 2 Jul 2003 20:30)

I Dont know what film it was, but isn't that just one of the most amazing songs? And her version is exeptionally good-- really sad!

>>By Don Sulmaya Dasa   (Wednesday, 2 Jul 2003 22:04)

If You Go Away is in the ending credits of Pumpkin, starring Christina Ricci. I recognized her right away, even though I hadn't heard much by her. Her voice is very unique, and definetly different from Bjork's.

Try downloading on Kazaa Lite.

>>By Kelly   (Saturday, 5 Jul 2003 05:20)

Thats the one, Pumpkin! Anyway, have you heard her version of Aretha Franklin's Today I sing the Blues? Amazing. So is she touring Europe anytime soon, any new album soon? If anyone has any news, please write!! And, am I the only dude here who thinks she's exceptionally hot?
