East 17

Forum

i loved them! The albums were all wicked! Someone to love was the best single, but was closely followed by Steam, House of love, Its alright, Hey child and if you ever. The rest were pretty top two! Should've had loads more number 1's, but thats life.
Over and out!

I went to three of their concerts! They were great! Brian was the lead singer by the way. Tony the main songwriter although I not sure he gave the others a chance! John looked good and played guitar or pretended to I not sure! Terry well I like the songs he did on the up all night album! Me and my friend were big fans and even resorted to writing to jim'll fixit we were that desperate to meet them! Sad i know!! I'm 21 now and I not so crazy bout them but i still think their music was great and better than any of the boys bands today. How naughty is Deep!!!!! :O Plus they were real bad boys : ). Mustang girl look on www.amazon.com they have their albums I think. Does anyone know if they are going to do anymore concerts I want to be a 14 year old screaming fan again!

They were my first love ahhhhhhh!!!! i wasn't as sad as my friend though because she has the East 17 duvet cover!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

>>By peace from the east   (Friday, 10 Jan 2003 03:55)

Hiya, the first song I ever remember hearing was House of Love, because my mum liked them. I'm only 14, but they are still my favourite boyband ever. I think their best song was It's Alright, but it's still hard to decide. It's a shame they aren't around anymore, to take over all the manufactured bands. I dunno if anyone will agree, but I think that Blazin' Squad have got a similar sound to them. Well, never mind, wish them all the best and luv to all the fans!

>>By missismusic   (Saturday, 18 Jan 2003 21:15)

Yes I think you right bout blazin squad being similar but not as good, least they seem a bit more raw than all the other boy bands around! : ) Both bands are from Walthamstow so maybe thats why? I think Stay Another Day is one of the most beautiful love songs ever! Maybe they will all get back together sometime!

>>By peace from the east   (Sunday, 19 Jan 2003 07:55)

i really love East 17, they are a really good band, i don't know why they split up, but i would really like to meet them, i love their song "stay another day"!!
it was brilliant, i listen to it non stop. the version they did is better than Girls Aloud.

>>By Jay - Leanne   (Wednesday, 22 Jan 2003 18:45)

Does any of u know y they split up? I think theyre awesome. Have you got a good website for them? Im only 11 but they have been my idols for ages.

>>By Tinkyminky   (Saturday, 25 Jan 2003 13:51)

Girls aloud sucks, Get back east 17 and they wont stand a chance.

>>By Tinkyminky   (Saturday, 25 Jan 2003 13:52)

I grew up hearing their songs I just cant get enough of them!   (Saturday, 25 Jan 2003 13:56)

i think they first split up cos brian talked on the radio about taking loads of ectasty so they chucked him out of the band. But of course they were rubbish without him. I think he returned for a bit but not sure. then tony left and the other 3 tried to carry on but it just didnt work out. Tony went a bit weird too with his song writing. Think the others got annoyed that he took over all the song writing. Not sure really i guess bands always split : (.

Girls aloud are rubbish by the way think it terrible they covered song but u never know maybe this will tempt East 17 to make a comeback! fingers crossed!

There gone get over em.they were shit no different then eny other boyband thats couse pop sux!!! Listen to heavy metal like korn, adema, linkin park, disturbed, drowning pool, enything but pop hope that sorts u out

>>By What the F@ck!!!!   (Thursday, 6 Feb 2003 13:30)

Brian sure does love uncle charlie.

>>By Britneys corpse   (Thursday, 6 Feb 2003 13:41)

So wat if they are gone? What the f@ck of pop you are talking about? I'm Asian, I listen to all type of music worldwide. British pop is wayyy cooler and wicked as compared to American pop - now think of that sick Barbies and Kens from N'sync and that cow Christina.
British boybands have talents and style. (no I'm not talking about Westlife though. That blokes should get a life) I listen to metal too, from Black Sabbath to Thor's hammer...
Maybe you should diversify your music preferance and fill up the spaces in your brains before entering a discussion...
East 17 forever..

I love east 17 with all my heart, especially Brian, I had him once at this after party a few years ago, he stole my heart since then. Now whenever I hear Steam, it reminds me of his warm embrace and his hot tool. Lots of love, LaShonda xxxx

damn I was a big fan of e-17,ive got the wathomstow album and the steam album, and also the steam video, and a couple of singles like around the world, damn those guys new how to throw a concert,im from Northern Ireland and they came to belfast in 96 I think, lol, amazingly peter andray was one of the supporting acts, that was before he came famous,I will alwayz remember them guys for as long as I live.they WHERE the best boy band till this day, there style, vocals and attitude has not been compared too since then, they had a bad ass look but with tony being who he was(being into god and the way he talked about world peace and stuff, and being very wise),they where like a mixture of bad and good............and when I was younger my style was based around theres :),but anyways, they rocked and there never will be another band like em again, and I will remember the days when ya made me who I was..........peace !...if any member of e-17 reads this,1 question, hows about one last tour for old times sake ? :)...

we are both 25 years old and seen east 17 in 1995 when we were 17 they were the boy band of our era. We never new they touched so many people, and still to this day they continue to do so. every now and then we get out our old posters and videos and watch them and think of the good times that they brought us.

nat loves tony
deb loves brian
peace from the east forever

>>By deb and nat   (Friday, 25 Jul 2003 14:50)

I loved East 17 since they started. I did some crazy things. I remember 1 concert me and a m8 had a 1 man tent to sleep in and no food or anything. East17 gave us their left over food to eat! And Bri gave me the rest of his cider to keep warm. I had everything, all the albums, all the singles, all the videos and abou a million posters! I still love them. And actually, they r back together touring universities and doing a lot of small gigs in Germany. They are now signed to a German record label. Its just Bri, Tel and John. Known as E17 still.
By the way Hey Child was sung by Tony. He did the main vocals for that one. If you evr need to know the latest gossip just ask me!
Peace from the East, and Levy says bye!

>>By BriansLush   (Friday, 25 Jun 2004 13:48)

Wow, I just read all the messages about East 17 and it reminds me of my childhood I have to say. Since I wanted to marry Brian too.
So tell me the newest things about them, I live in the Czech Republic, that is pretty close to Germany and I would definitely want to see them on stage again and feel like 14 again . That was I guess the greatest time in my life and I even learned English all alone to understand them.
Thanks people you made my day brighter.
