Discussion: Destroyer

I'll never get the attraction of bands in this genre. This is one of the "talking singing" bands that I think Arab Strap and The Hold Steady fall into. Perhaps it's a love or hate thing. Didn't like it at ALL when I first listed to it. It sounded pretentious and contrived, but now I find little enjoyable sections of songs. It's like finding a little reading nook in an old library. Many of these nooks reside within the tracks of "European Oils" and "Woman Up to a Point".

You get stuck in the lilting swagger of his voice, not to mention the "la la laaaaa's". This will be addictive in the autumn.
