Delta Goodrem

Forum

Hey......for those of you who haven't heard of her or anything, her songs rock and i think her album has only just been released in the USA....well, in good old OZ, she's been around for almost a year, i think. Her singles came out in this order:
Born to Try
(a really cool song, and there's this one really high note that hardly anyone can get to when singing...wait, no, that might put you off.)
Lost Without You
(i love this one, it's easy to sing ((or so i reckon)) and it has meaningful lyrics too)
Innocent Eyes
(this one is about her dream to sing and play music....a good singalong as well)
Not Me, Not I
(it has a really cool clip where she's in a ruined castle...it's about breaking up, and your ex not believing you can survive)
Predictable
(my absolute favourite because it's different from her other songs, it's really more of a rock song, about someone being too predictable and kind of suffocating. I haven't seen the clip but i love the song)

Well, those are all her songs released so far in oz, and practically all of them have reached number 1.....earlier this year at the ARIAs (an australian music award, not quite as famous as a grammy), she was nominated for 7 arias and i think she got 3 or 4.
Delta is a battler because a few months ago, the nation found out that she was diagnosed with Hodgekin's disease (a cancer of the lymphatic system) and she is currently undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy. She has had some hair loss, so she cut her hair and had some wigs made for her.....before the cancer, she had really beautiful, long, blonde hair, but now she wears wigs and you couldn't tell the difference.
She really is a battler because she released Not Me, Not I and Predictable while she was undergoing the therapy......her chances are good because i think about 90% of patients with this form of cancer are young and survive.....Delta is only 18 or 19.
All of her fans in oz and everywhere else should keep praying and hoping that she will get better before long.

I absolutely LOVE "Lost without". It's my fav Delta song, but I'm liking "Predictable" What about u?

Yeah, predictable all the way! Followed closely by throw it away (on the album)
When I first got the album, I always thought that predictable was a bit different to the rest, more of a rock song...anyway, love the song, can't say much more.

Yeah...I wish I had her range....I hope one day to get a contract with some record company for singing...but at the moment I'll stick with school talent quests and school choir.
Delta must have been really talented to get a contract by the time she was 15...but the single wasn't successful.

I'm going to try to describe it:
A worldly angel, innocent, but wise at the same time...at times it soars above the heights of the skies, at others, it is low, and quiet.
Her music is truly isniring, and all the therapy she's gone through must be torture.
Go Delta! She shows that women are brave, and can make it through tough times.
