And thats just NOT TRUE. They may not have been as ferocious as Death, but I don't believe that was the idea anyways. CD was more classic metal. I feel like I need to rant a little.... I noticed alot of posts and topics concerning nu-metal/extreme rock. I think what the kiddos seem to not get is that as great as they think these bands are nowadays, there were and still are far better musicians in other genres of metal (death metal, speed/thrash, and classic heavy metal/rock). If the musicians in these kiddie bands played even a 1/4 as good as a Van Halen, Chuck Schuldiner, James Murphy, Alex Van Halen, John Bonham, Gene Hoglan, etc.), I could at least maybe appreciate them more. But they have no style, no creativeness, no ability. Or if they do, it doesn't show. Every band now sounds like every other band. Metallica didn't sound like Slayer, and vice versa. Death didn't sound like Obituary. Iron Maiden didn't sound like Judas Priest. If ya hear one nu-metal band, you've heard them all. And THAT is sad. Thanks for letting me rant. I'm sure some kid will say i'm a dumbass, dumbf**k, etc. But at least I was able to grow up listening to music that meant something and had musical ability to back it up.
