If you have the opportunity to pick up their live DVD it really is magical. I had forgotten how sensual their music was until you see it performed.

Had the opportunity to see Brenden in SF a year+ ago. It was like a church service.

etherNectar, would you have the setlist ? Would love to see him perform again, only saw him once as a solo artist when he released his solo album ! Brilliant concert, though a little too Western & Country influence to me, but Song to the Siren sung by him really is moving !

I swa them live a long time ago...I always preferred the Lisa stuff though. I bought a record a while back by Ronan Quays, who was on that compilation album These Wings Without Feathers with Lisa and bunch of others. He's doing solo stuff now under his own name: rhett brewer. I bought the cd on the website rhettbrewer.com, beautiful stuff

Lisa Gerrard, the dead can dance muse is powerful, her voice transports you elsewhere, in the skies, i don't know. She's no doubt the best female artist, what she did on the Gladiator score is incredibly oustanding, she digs deep into her inner being to create powerful songs, very often with no words at all, just sounds from her own language. Words are for her an obstacle, words confine her, that's why i think she uses her glossolalia to go past this obstacle. Dead Can Dance is one my favourite group. You should see them in live, it explains everything, her persona is very complex. it's someone I'd like to meet.

dead can dance is the most beautiful musik you will EVER, and i mean EvER hear! i fell in love with them as soon as i heard the first note. i am still in ove with them and will forever will be. if i see them play live i can then die a peaceful death. that is how brilliant Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard are to me. if i could recommend one album, it would be a hard decision but in the longrun i would have to say Into The Labyrinth, this album made me cry like a baby, it was just to beautiful to hold in. ...

Dead can Dance, a journey through alleys that leads to beauty of innerlife. Where tears start
asking and doubt loose weight, revealing with silence in wich Lisa awakes.........................
I've (almost) accepted the fact that i won't see them perform together again. Yet still i'm hoping. Their music is meaningfull and make such deep impact. I recently red somewhere
that Brendan is still making music. I'm anxious to hear it.

Dead Can Dance's music is timeless and spaceless. Saw them live once in about 1997. Great concert. Discovered their music playing in a book store. Great music to listen to while browsing through a book store!

I'm aware of two compilations: 'Wake' and 'A passage in time'. Both the albums are great. 'Passage in time' is about their works until 'Aion' and 'Wake' is about all. Yet i prefer the latest one, 'Wake', but just because some faves o' mine are on that one. 'Passage in time' really is perfect too.

I saw them live last March. Had been waiting for some 15 years to see them on stage. Their first five albums I nearly know by heart.
The concert was like a mysterium and I experienced some kind of a katharsis, really..
The best of all is their album Within the Realm of a Dying Sun- this is an absolute masterpiece of atmosphere and art.
Their fist album is very special - vocals by Brendan. And it contains the song " In Power we entrust and love advocated", which was the first DCD song I had ever heard and once I heard it, I instantly fell in love with the band.
