i saw cradle of filth in concert at ozzfest! o my god they were awesome!!!!!!! they played "promis of fever, her ghost in the fog, dusk and her embrace,cthulhu dawn, forset whispers my name , and cruelty brought thee orchids" o my god it was so amazing! and dani is NOT gay , he has a wife now .

Cradle of Filth = Black romantic gothic metal
"The Principle..." to "Midian" are the best albums they've made.
They're Cradle like, but different.
"The Principle..." - An atmosphere of anti-christ, some shrieks, filth and nice crude sound.
"Dark Faerytales..." - Screams, shrieks and squeels all the way to hell. Long beautiful songs, just Cradle like with sweet anti-christ lyrics not crossing the line to cheerlessness.
Too bad the albums is so short.
"Dusk and Her..." - *Dark Requiems of Death, Damnation and the Darkly Erotic* oh yeah.
How does he such great lyrics?
"Cruelty and the..." - Not a "screamer" like the earlier albums. But nice rythm and great lyrics. Great piece of work about the Countess. "The lick of ...." kicks ass, nice end track.
"Midian" - Quite big variation of songs. "Lord Abortion" to "Her ghost in the fog". Not much shrieks, but still a great album and Cradle like. This album got me into Cradle of Filth
(and metal on the whole). Tearing the veil from grace... Melodic and vioelent.
Is there to be found any better requiem of God's defeat?
"Bitter Suites to Succubi" - No bestseller. But some good tracks though.
Then what?
I wanted "Damnation And A Day" desperately. When I got it, and listened to it... was that it?
It wasn't much Cradle like. Dani sounds like a parody of himself sometimes.
Am I the only one who is disappointed?
The album isn't all bad, but I was hoping for more.
Perhaps it does a difference when two long-time bandmembers leave (why did they?).
It's a good thing when a band developes, and don't play the same shit over and over again.
But.. I was hoping for something else. Still I am loyal to Cradle of Filth.
Wonder what they're upcoming album will be like.

I love Cradle of Filth with a fuckin' passion. Dani is my fav. <3! He's so talented and I think he's a sexy beast! I love his voice and their music and music videos kick major ass!!! Cradle of Filth was recommended to me by one of my friends. They are probably the worst bunch of jokes ive ever had the displeasure of listening to. The singer has the worst voice i have ever heard and the lyrics are crap.

I must admit the screaming is very slightly overdone, but their composing of orchestral music to go with their very complicated guitar parts shows a true musician. Their lyrics are not crap. They are gothic, they have mysterious and arcane themes which do them credit. They can obviously write good riddles.

I think Cradle of filth is a great band, but they've become too populair. Everywhere l come I see small children aged 12 walking around in COF shirts and call themself metalhead or gothic or something. I think that symphonic black metal or, as Malignus Decius said, black romantic gothic metal are great descriptions of their music

....wot can i say cradle of filth...amazing band....love them....i used to have a friend i hate her now....but i can honestly say that her uncle is cradle of filths tour manager....she gets free tickets....free clothes....autographs....she talks to dani filth online...she has photos of her dad piercing dani's nipple....and she is possibly going to have cradle at her birthday party!!!...i hate her...but if u wanna talk to her you can...just dont say it was me tht gave u her addy...

I am a great fan of Cradle Of Filth. I like "Cruelty & The Beast " and "Vempire" very much. Thet rock man. They are Black Metal at its best.

seriously, the cover of hallowed be thy name was one of the greatest moments in their stuff, and Cruelty and the Beast was a facking awesome album...bitter sweets to succubi rocks, Born in a Burial Gown has some great riffs.

COF was the first Black Metal band I ever listened to, 'Her Ghost in the Fog' being my first song. At first I found them kind of funny and didn't like them, but I was drawn to that song! After a few more listenings I was snared. Then I heard 'From the Cradle to Enslave' and I was a fan for life. While many people don't find them as being a true black metal band, simply because they are popular... I don't understand that? They have done very little changes, slightly less screams and they certainly haven't dropped the amount of effort put into their music. So, just because people actually like what they are doing they can't be Black Metal? Fuck that.
Hey, watch the talk about 12 year olds walking around in COF shirts! I was one of them! Actually, I started listening to COF when I was about 11 years old (4 years ago). Never judge a fan by their age, you can be as hardcore as you personally deem neccessary. Is it impossible for a 12 year old to really be a metalhead? I find it great when metal fans start young, it means their level of "hardcore" will increase faster, and by the time they can hit the clubs they will experts on the genre... I say fuck yeah! Although, I do see your point. They claim to be hardcore "gothic" or "metalhead" when they listen to shit like Static X and Slipknot.

well i would have to agree with most people on here stating that cradle is awesome! i was never really into music like that and my xboyfriend had me listen and i've been a fan for two years now! i love them..and i live in wisconsin so its not popular around here but when i see them and see interviews and stuff..i love the music and such but i do believe that dani filth has a bit of arrogance and he seems only interested in making it big...and i do respect him wanting to go somewhere but i feel it should be for the music! also cradle has led me to other music of similar styles! cradle definitely kicks ass!
