coil is the worst band i have ever heard. there not even music there just some random noises put together to sound like shit. i bet there shows are just for people who are on acid....and i bet they wouldnt even like it. they suck. there a joke. i saw there cd at the store and it was 20 bucks. what a rip off. i could make a better band on fruityloops and sell it and people would like it better.

Oh yeah.
This band has been into experimental music (amongst other experimental ways of living) for more than 20 years ! I guess longer than most of these kids playing with fruityrubbish. ALSO. Bands like Coil gave electronic music - and I mean both software and hardware side - such a bust.They picked up some very original sounds and noises from analog equipment aeons ago...not soundblaster and Rebirth ...
If you want to know them...just listen to what they've been doing in the last 3 years. Way above ANY ambient or cheap intellectual glitch stuff: MUSICK TO PLAY IN THE DARK is a MUST !!!
Time to stay silent and listen.

I've been producing electronic music on a pro level for 15 years, and I can tell you that NOBODY can do what they do with that quality on any machine. that's for the fruityloop part. Now you should know that the bloke doing most of the music side of it (Peter Christopherson) was using home-made digital samplers on stage in 77/78, 2 years before the official creation of such instruments. They know a bit or two about sound, wich is far from being your case( fruityloop is the worse sounding software I ever seen). But this is not the point. The point is nobody crossed the line between noise and music as they do. the point is what they do, the universe they created, and themselves are truly amazing, emotional, and BEAUTYFULL. Maybe some close minded people would like better what you do, but meanwhile you are a nobody and people are paying 20 for a band they LOVE and that truly deserve it. stick your attitude up your arse and don't believe the hype.

I have been a true fan of Coil for the last 12 to 13 years. I have never been so moved by such rich and beautiful sounds that Coil produces. I will be a loyal fan for many years to come.

it appears that blood has been shed makes a very poorly informed judgement.

to begin with, coil has a marvelously diverse catalogue. even an idiot can find at least one coil song they enjoy.

on top of that, coil's audio work is among the best crafted electronic music available. their work with sampling is one of the most forward thinking contributions ot music in the last 20 years.

i think coil has a uniqe sense of creativity. Their music is great, and is good to listen to at any time. Some people (Blood has been Shed) just dont appricciate modern music, and i am disgusted by those people. (Please not that this is coming from a heavy metal 13 yr. old Rock fan) And i am liking this every bit as much as i like iced earth. so do your ears a favor and give coil a listen.

I think that the thing to remember is that they are experimental. They don't follow a record companies guidelines. When you experiment, you are bound to find some concepts that don't work. In all honesty, I am a big fan, but I will be the first to admit that some of their work is almost unlistenable. But this doesn't take away from the fact that there are some true gems in there that are moving, and transcend our accepted view of "music". I don't know that I would have the spaldings to take a chance like that, but I am glad that they were willing to assume that risk.

Coil is probably one of the most interesting band I've heard...
They had a real vision for things and they've influenced so many bands you wouldn't believe....

Saying youcould better with Fruity Loops shows how little you know about electronic music!!!
