i think the circle jerks are one of the most musically talented bands out today and ever because the style is unique each musician in the band is skilled and the lyrics are amazing spanning from making fun of how things work and straight out telling you how bad some shit sucks

I discovered the jerks when I was in the 4th grade (1980) along with many other bitchen bands. By the time I was in the 6th grade I was on drugs, had a mohawk, moved to Oxnard, started hangin with Illrepute on Silver Strand and dropped out of school. I was raised in juvy. The circle jerks were the first punk band that I got into. I was 18 when I finally
quit slammin punk. ( I was way in the gutter man!) It took some years for me to overcome the repocussions. Well I made it! Im 33 now, I have two wonderful sons and a beautiful ex-wife. I've been an animator on the Simpsons for 9 years now and I've returned to my roots of underground old school H.C. and continue to surf the strand. I've mellowed out thorouhgly though. In fact, I like underground lounge jazz now more then anything. But now that I like myself, I can flash back and enjoy you guys now more then ever.........Jerks!

is it true that the circle jerks have reformed and playing again?

The Circle Jerks are right up there with Black Flag and Minor Threat. Their singer dude was one of the original singers from black flag, so i guess they have the DIY shit down. They make good angry music.

Circle Jerks are amazing up 'til their 3rd album, Golden Shower Of Hits. Once Wonderful came out, I heard it and never listened to another new Circle Jerks album since. Same with a lot of the California bands of that time. They all seemed to go bad. Black Flag, Descendents, Social Distortion, Agent Orange, Shattered Faith, Bad Religion, all put out some pretty shitty records. But their early stuff is nothing less than amazing. That's how I see it anyways........By the way, way to go Eric(March 2003), I too took about 15 years off of life due to extreme heavy drug usage. Finally stopped Jan. 03, started to buy music again by May, and now, have bought over 200 cd's, mostly of 80's hardcore bands. Nice to be back, huh?

I've had Wonderful since it came out and I still listen to it regularly. One of the best records of all time.

Everyone should listen to "paid vacation"...that shit is from 1979 and is still applicable today! I tried to get the band I'm in convinced we should cover that song, but they all decided it would be too hard, we couldn't do it justice, it's really fast, they were talented. The underground is still where it's at if you're looking for the most talent and creativity.
