After The Beatles, I'd say that Can, in their own way, were the second most unique band to come out of Europe in the last fifty years or more. Listen to their albums, the first handful especially, & although you can identify categories & styles of music in which they played, they hardly ever at any one time actually sound like any other named band that you'd care to mention. In that way they very unique.
