A tagedy. Varg Vikernes (the guy behind Burzum) released those milestones (the albums to the left) and then went to prison. Will he be burried there forever ? Looks like it is so.
If people do amazing music, I like to follow their evolution over time and how their music evolves. Now, this story seems to be interrupted. Forever ?

Whilst Burzum is called Death-Metal or something like that, the music sounds rather like an ancient, timeless flow. I have read that Varg once said, he wrote this music while not knowing for how long he will be a free man and for how long he will be alive. Maybe it's due to this.

Of all the Burzum albums, the Aske EP is the most burzm-like to me. It's atmosphere is pure. Someone feeling himself and the world and everything. Pure.

Talking how to describe BURZUM best, i don't think that is possible. 1st due to the diversity between the earlier and later albums and second because of the style itself. When trying to compare to other bands I cannot relate BURZUM to any other, however many tried to tred in it's footsteps...

Burzum is unique. I don't care if Vikernes is a fucking nazi or a Murderer. His songs are superbous nihilistic mantras. "Burzum + Aske", "Det Som Engang Var" and "Hvis Lyset Tar Oss" are fantastic albuns!!! Very diferent from the habitual Death/Black Metal records. "Det Som Engang Var" (from "Hvis Lyset Tar Oss") is the best song for me.

Burzum isn't for you trend seekers, it is for pure heathens who love pure fantastical things, whether its walking through the forest at night in awe at its beautafull song, or the next best thing which is Burzum itself. I liked so much Daudi Baldrs, it´s very nice listening that epic music on the album, however l don´t like the shit!!! he preaches about Aryan superiority. I disagree with his beliefs, on the other hand, his records have great "Visuelle Kunst" they are so enchanting.

Varg Vikernes is a TRUE musician. His music is so high above everything else, that when you listen to it, you are taken to another, a more ancient and pure world.

Recently tempted myself to buy a copy of Daudi Balders and the Throne Of Odin album ,despite all the bad press about these last two albums i was very suprised about the ammount of creativity that has gone into the music.Not everybodys cup of tea (synth based) and a complete flip from the usual expected humancrushdevastation of black metal,but goes to show that varg has no boundaries to his song writting skills and has unlimited ammount of inspiration.Both albums also reflect upon his respect and interest in norse mythology(likewise).Im sure that he has a few more albums hidden up his sleeve whether hes in jail or not.(Methinks his very last album was actually written from his cell in bergen Norway,although im not entierly certain).

AN intelligent,talented musician who birthed a revolution in BM. But ,speaking as a supporter, think about how old he was when all the drama happened. Regardless of how mature you are or how serious your intent, you evolve or else you become a pantomime. Varg had alot of problems that perhaps hurt him in the long run.The music progressed and then evolved out of his situation(incarceration) but his statements, actions and opinions veered wildly from childish tantrums to volkish shaman.No one is an absolute. To deify Varg is a bad idea. Respect his works and think foryourself

In Norway, the maximum sentence is 21 years and you get a third off that (7 years) for good behaivour. He could be released in 4 years!!!!!!
There is no more Burzum. He ended it in 1999 because of the "hail Satan, black metal, evil, dark" bullshit that you guys perpetuate. Grow up children.

Burzum made some very good music and should be respected for that. But apart from that he hated everyone who wasen't aryan, and c'mon we all know that's wrong no one can honestly say they HATE everyone who dosen't got "the right" color.
