Discussion: Brook Benton

Did he ever come to Australia in the 80's?

i remember brook benton from the 50s and 60s when he used to sing w/ dinah washington, i don't think anyone can surpass this fine baritone

He had soul when he sang.I loved his beautiful voice.

I am just learning about Brook Benton. I have been a fan of Dinah Washington for several years since my God Mother turned me on to her. On one of the cd's she had was the song You Got What It Takes. I was overtaken by the male lead of the song, even though on one part he sang Dinah's lyrics and smoothed it over ever so smartly, I was out done. i would love to hear more of his music. If anyone has any further info on this fine singer dont fail to contact me at dirtyon65@hotmail.com

Come on. Someone out there has some Brook Benton vinyl on
Reprise or Cotillion. Even if you know where I can purchase Brook Benton CD's or vinyl on the Reprise or Cotillion record labels please
let me know. Europe, Asia, South America, I don't care.
All of this great peformers music is just in bits and pieces of the same old titles on Mercury or RCA. he had tons of other fantastic recordings that have not been released in the states for 30 or more years.
This man was too great of a performer to be forgotten because of the ignorance of American Record Label executives. Help!!
