Discussion: Bright Eyes I say that Bright Eyes is emo. I don't give a crap what the rest of you say, to me it's emo. Go ahead, I don't mind how you call it, I won't call it emo, if emo stands for emotional music, this is a way to broad defenition, besides 15 year ago bands that are now defined as Emo were called Indie rock back then, which would stand for independent. Also a lame name, but at least a little more defined... I don't think it should make a difference how we called, as long as we agree on one thing: it is great music! For me that is the definition: there are two kinds of Music; the ones that do tough me, and the ones that don't... BUT I dont know how you can listen to a song like "something vague" or "waste of paint" and trust me tons of others but im tired and don't want to name them all, but anyway i believe when a man is singing these basically flawless lyrics very emotianally that would pretty much mean that it is emo.Finnally I think that it would be stupid to keep arguing about something pathetic as genres. I think its emo, but in the end I could care less. The overall message is not intended to say that he is an emotianal man it is to help people and mostly help himself. I love how he actually shows emotion in his songs...it's like you can feel what he's going through and what he has gone through. I like that in a band. I like being able to relate to musicians, to be able to listen to a song and think "he explained exactly what I'm going through in a way that I never could"....That's what I love about Connor.
