the website is saddle-creek.com

A site fully devoted to people talking about the wonder that is Bright Eyes, hmm, that's nice. Some day, after i move to Omaha, Meet Connor, and become Moderatley famous I'll Have a website like this as well. I feel like a little girl on the NSYNC site or something but i can not express how wonderful Bright Eyes is. The lyrics, the orchestra accompantiment, Connor's beauty. It's enough to drive anyone wonderfully, happily, mad. Someday, Connor Oberst, you and I will meet. I'll try hard to play it cool and not gravel at the site of you're heavenly face.

one more thing... "bright eyes, bowl of oranges, bands like these make music rock

>>By claire" ... Bowl of Oranges is a song my bright eyes, not a band. A Song, beautiful, beautiful song, hmmm. yea.

>>By Crotchel

mister oberst is no genius just because he can verbalize his suffering. if he's a genius at all, it's because he can wallow in his disgusting solipsism and WE BUY IT, as mocked in the song "false advertising." however, few people have the kind of honesty he lays down, and for that he deserves praise.

>>By colleen

I have to agree with Colleen. It's no wonder why Conor tends to shy away from his fans when they are crazed and treat him like a Musical God.
Conor Oberst is very good at reaching his emotions and justifying his feelings of frustration, regret, love, anger, what-have-you...
He is genius in the fact of his wisdom at such a young age, though what would make him smarter would be to slow down in his "social habits". We don't need another Cobain, Hoone, or Staley, now do we??
Also, with his political viewpoints, animal rights activism (PETA), and anti-popculture lyrics (mostly heard through Desaparacidos) it is bound to be true that though Bright Eyes will be big, Conor will always keep his feet postioned firmly on the ground, though his head may come attached here and there.
And yes, False Advertising is a reminder that Conor Oberst is just another person like you or I, but more poetic and musically inclined.

i absolutely love bright eyes jus got into them i love the way his voice and emotions take over you teh listener. >>By brighteyesisthebombboy

im sorry but fevers and mirrors is more amazing than lifted tho they are both brilliant

>>By brighteyesisthebombboy

Bright Eyes rock! Conor Oberst has an amazing voice. I agree that Fevers and Mirrors is better than Lifted, even though Lifted is an awesome album.

CONOR IS AN EMO GOD!

>>By punk_child_8713

euhmmmmmmmmmm,

I don't agree with you on two points:

1) I am an agnost: I doubt the excistence of Gods....
2) EMO?

Any of you guys ever listen to American Anologue: with one of the main members of that band, Bright Eyes would surely sound less interesting.........

>>By Campking

Sorry: American Analogue Set........

>>By Campking

i have to take my previous quote about saying that fevers is better tahn lifted thats not what i meant it is more amazing becuase connor was so much younger when he wrote it
also connor is a genius and not becuase he can verbailize crap its because he makes feelings and he does what no other artist can and that is verbalize things that have real tru meaning ya so if u guys want to listen to "all american rejects" thats fine but u are wasting your life away with meaningless blaaaaaa from a band of guys that eaither dont udnerstand good music our are just selling out to sell records, I mean im no quieer but lets be honest conners a good looking guy he could be in a boy band if he can make amazing symbolizim like that he can rhyme some simpiler words as well but he is not selling out hes staying tru to emo and indie music. EMO stands for emotional camp king

>>By brighteyesisthebombboy

Maybe Conor's incarnation as Desaparecidos could be described as emo but definately not Bright Eyes. What matters though is that he can write fantastic music whatever you want to call it.And,Campking, even though I agree about American analog set being good (especially Know By Heart LP) I think that Conor is an ace songwriter in his own right.

>>By thom

desperacidos is the opposite of what you are saying it is his chance to goet a way from emo its connors world outside of emo music have u heard it the guitar the drums its not emo its rock indie

>>By brighteyesisthebombboy

EMO stands for emotional camp king

I know, bright eyes is the bomb boy

but I think that EMO is one of the worse titles put on a stream of music, besides if Bright Eyes is anything, I wouldn't call it EMO....

I never disagreed with that, but I might have raised that impression.. just wanted to raise the attention to the musicians in the background, who hardly ever get mentioned and do are an important part of the Bright Eyes Sound...

>>By Campking

So what would you call Bright Eyes?

Go to the EMO discussion forum and read what is wriiten about EMO there.. You might find out that EMO is another name for what used to be called Indierock....

>>By Campking

A very good singersongwriter, and talented storyteller.. rough songs, not to polished and very emonal loaded (like loads of music).. But certainly not EMO.....

>>By Campking

For those of you interested in more info about Conor Oberst, this article was in today's
Omaha newspaper. A lengthy interview with his parents, I found it very interesting.

Enjoy.

Are they emo? Are they not? Indie maybe? Is capitalism going to bring this world to an end? Is relieving yourself in the woods a real danger of getting ticks in your back side? One has to wonder.

>>By thom

Connor is brilliant. He's a dream boy of a real dream. Favorite from him so far would be 'Lover I Don't Have to Love', but it's definetly a close call.

Sounds obsessive...maybe. Lead to stalking...probable. Wish I was cool...for him alone. (hmm...cliche)

>>By bettyrubble

i havent been around in a while but i am back and ive read the crap response u people have put out trust me guys connor and bright eyes is emo deseperacidos has a certain emo feal to it in man and wife latter and former but as for songs like greater omaha that is a whole different idea outside of emo

>>By brighteyesisthebombboy

Beautiful, everything about Bright eyes is brilliant.

>>By inner child

I'm not a big fan of bright eyes i like their lyrics and stuff but i don't really like the singing the voice gets under my skin

>>By Jackthepumpkinking

I say that Bright Eyes is emo. I don't give a crap what the rest of you say, to me it's emo.

>>By punk_child_8713

>>By Jackthepumpkinking
