Mr. Lyle is a consumate, courageous, and original artists. 'The Genie' has managed to stay true to the artform, providing some of the most provocatively spiritually satisfying body of work, rivaled only by the top players like Duke, Hancock, and the rising star of Bob Baldwin.
Not to be hip to Lyle's music is a great disadvantage for the jazz afficionado.

I went to art school in Minneapolis (MCAD) in the 70s with Bobby's little sister Marianne. She was a dancer (as were her other sisters) and an amazing fashion designer as well. I would like to contact Bobby, not only for his amazing jazz piano that I have always been so proud of, but I'd also like to re-connect with Marianne, if at all possible. She and I were extremely good friends, and she was ALWAYS so very proud of him. Everytime I hear him play, I remember good times, my good friend Marianne, and being totally amazed that I had a friend who was related to him. If there is a way to contact Mr. Lyle, I'd really appreciate any help you can give me. Please let him and/or Marianne know that Beverly says, "Hello, from San Francisco! And Marianne: Rudy would love to hear from you as well; he's still in Connecticut." Hope to hear something soon! Thanks for any help anyone can give!

I love the fellows music. In ULTRA a jazz fusion band I was in in the 80s I was hipped to his music by Ronald Washington. Later I arranged his song "Genie" for a band I was in. I saw him in SF and asked and he did play it, I love the song. He has a real gift for magical powerful music. I'm glad his name showed up here on Gnoosic. I would love to hear what he is up to.
