Blue Oyster Cult is talent at its best. They sing music with meaning, have exceptional voices, and psycadelic grooves. As you can see by scrolling down that they have been around for a while. B.O.C should be a part of everyones music collection!

I saw them only onceat MSG during the Fire Of Unknown Origin / Live Extraterrestrials Tour and they were awesome! Great music and a great show! I just started to get into their more obscure songs (read: less airplay) and find they have incredible depth to their music. I plan on catching them again when they come through.

I first saw BOC in 1973 and lastly in 1999. They only get better with age. Led Zeppelin ,Black Sabbath, and Blue Oyster Cult are the TOP THREE BANDS of ROCK ! BOC continues to tour on a regular basis and I plan to see them again.

Hello Mark, Ed :-)

Intelligence and depth are what this band is all about, but they can still relate to those of us who only care about rockin'. Blue Öyster Cult stands the test of time and is still alive and touring today after 30 years.

Anyone have any idea what that movie is that features "Don't Fear the Reaper" as a argued discussion topic between two rockers, one redhead and one brown haired. The movie is along the lines of Dazed and Confused, and it features concert footage of BOC. During the concert the redheaded rocker gets a laser pointer dot on his forehead and has a monumental moment.

Been a fan for nearly twenty five years now. I can't think of another band that manages to plumb the depth of in/human experience or flawlessly display the breadth of knowledge that Blue Oyster Cult has, and for over thirty years. May the light shine forever.

B.O.C. IS ONE OF THE BEST MUSIC BANDS EVER, AND I ESPECIALY LOVE THE SONS, " I'M BURNIN' FOR YOU", AND "DON'T FEAR THE REAPER". KEEP IT UP B.O.C., I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Rogue, The movie is called "The Stoned Age". BOC rules. Fire of Unknown Origin is one of the best albums ever.

>>By Zaphod   (Monday, 24 Mar 2003 06:31)

Blue Oyster Cult's early music (72-76) is some of the best Hard Rock that ever existed.....And I think there underrated for it...They deserve a spot in the Hall Of Fame..For being so influential..Cultosaurus Erectus, Fire Of Unknown Origin, Heaven Forbid, and Curse Of The Hidden Mirror are excellent like there early albums too!!......In my opinion Blue Oyster Cult and Rush would be an amazing show!!!!!......The 2 Best Thinking Man's Hard Rock Bands!!

Saw BOC live at the St. Paul Civic Center along with 18,000 other lucky fans, still remember the 5 guitars hitting power chords as one. Awsome!

I need to know the name of the movie in which the kid gets shot in the eye with a laser at a boc concert. can some one help me out?   (Saturday, 29 Mar 2003 02:48)

I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cow bell.

>>By Bruce   (Wednesday, 2 Apr 2003 08:35)

BOC ...None better. That's the way it goes, it's Rock & Roll!

>>By Ice Dog   (Friday, 4 Apr 2003 23:30)

"The Stoned Age" recomended by all BOCimites

>>By Ice Dog   (Friday, 4 Apr 2003 23:33)

The first concert I every saw was back in '76 when BOC was the backup to Rush. After the show I went and bought every BOC album. Been hooked every since. The second time I caught their concert was at the Texas Jam. I think their most under-rated album is Mirrors. My personal favorite is Agents of Fortune.

>>By MojoKidd   (Wednesday, 7 May 2003 04:56)

I'm telling you....you're gonna want that cowbell on the track!

You're gonna WANT that COWbell

can someone tell me the meaning (if any) of the song dominance and submission, please.

>>By joemath   (Monday, 17 Nov 2003 08:57)

It's a shame I wasn't around when BOC were! I discovered 'em through an older friend and well... now I wish I'd discovered them a long time ago! I'm still too young tho... but they still rawk... so I guess thats all that matters really!

>>By DamnedCause   (Tuesday, 22 Nov 2005 23:05)

For joemath:
The Character of "Suzy" is referred to in at least 4 BOC songs ("Before The Kiss, A
Redcap", "Dominance and Submission", "Astronomy", and "The Marshall
Plan"). Suzy originally referred to one of Sandy Pearlman's many
girlfriends, but later just came to refer to "some mean bitch"
The BOC Fanclub newsletter "Morning Final" (issue #12), provides
insight into the meaning of several songs on *Secret Treaties*.
The song, "Dominance And Submission" is the true story of an automobile ride taken
with Suzy and her brother ("Charles the grinning boy"), in which some
unexpected sexual actions were suggested. "Morning Final #12" does not
say who was put "in the backseat" and taken "for a ride".
The above was taken from the B.O.C. FAQ
