| Discussion: Björk Pages: 1 2 she´ve always been so confortable with herself that love has been growing up and been part of every little thing she does, by following her instincts she knows everything its ok and no negative thoughts, well she´s human but i think is one of the most positive and healthfull persons with that body cheetah or whatever, SO needed or necessary i don´t know that much of english, but the resume is that she can express a feeling tied with thought and then with just the zzzoooommmofmnafoang!!!! she find thaT specific sound and then everybody can look each other and say "yeah, that´s the point", she knows where to point to>>By adriana björk you are fabulous >>By marine I know her, since I am was twelve years old, it was 1992. I saw her on a local music channel , it was the song HIT . And when my eyes saw her , my feelings was that i have butterflyes in my stomach. i didn t know her name , but the melody of the song was in my head for weeks. i was totally in love with her . She has her way with different sounds, and her lyrics are so explicit and her pronounciation tends to give her lyrics that edgy feel that no other artist can. I love the way she knows how to make her music tremble with sensation and cause us to want more of her sounds and chirps and coos even more for every time we listen to her enduring voice. Her music simply ooze of sensuality, and adventure, and make us want to run in the forest, with a speaker in every treetop, and sing along with all our might. As a true pioneer of musical boundaries she bends our listening experinces into the new "new".. and I like the sound of that new "new". Don`t you? To make a long story short.. Listening to my feelings and knowing I am not alone in feeling. Or amplifying feeling, turn it up to 11 and really immerse in it. Dancer in the dark moved me so, I felt she wanted me to leave the theatre before her last song, she was telling me it was the second to last song and it was time to go, didn't I remember that? I am ASL 52 M NZ, I thought "this is talent, this is feeling, this is a unique person". Forgive me my pride, but I am so pleased to be proven right, to have seen her go on to be loved by so many. I treasure a video I have of her at an american award show, a simple duet with P.J. Harvey on guit, and Björk on a tinny little keyboard, doing the Stones' "Satisfaction". Everybody listens and looks at Bjork Gudmundsdottir differently. In my country [Poland] there are a lots of people who adore her creativity and inspiring music, but there are also poeople who say like OMG: "she can`t sing". I know only one thug: her music is changing my life every day in order to make me and love more important for everybody around me. It`s so hard to describe, but it`s something like the main character in American Beauty movie says: "It`s wonderful when you still can suprise yourself". She suprises me with every record of hers [in case of "Vespertine", negatively at start, also], suprises me every day, even when I hear the older pieces. these are masterpieces. She`ll be known for centuries, like Bach, Beethoven, The Beatles... She`s a real Goddess on our small Earth. Frequently, I went out on the piss, as they say in England, and frequently I used to see this beautiful girl. I never did ask her name, she looked unapproachable. A couple of friends had speokn to her only to get the brush off. I think this only helped in my attraction towards her. I t was firstly at Retro's that she caaught my eye, then wafter that closed down, I used to see her at Crash. If you were in Durbs years ago, you will know these places. I would love to write to this girl, just to let her know how beautiful I thought and think, that she is. The only desription that I can give is that she was about 5ft tall( I think), she looked like Bjork, and she drove a blue Beetle, it may have had a NUR registration plate. I have serched the web for anything about these 2 clubs, as well as The Rift, but no no avail. This is my last hope. She made such an impression on me that I still think of her. I don't think that I need to explain what I look like, I think she will know. I must have seen her over a hundred times, and due to the reasons mentioned earlier, together with my inherant shyness and a couple of relationships, I never did persue her...I know it's sad. I don't want to be on my death's bed without ever having spoken to her. I don't want anything other than to tell her my feelings. She may well be married, settled down, I'm not trying to ruin that, I just want to get this off of my chest. >>By Mr X I have never understood Björk. Their first album "Melodica" is just out in the US. Fellow Norweigans Royksopp did some of the production and the sound is somewhat similar, but Frost is definitely more up-tempo than Royksopp. Vocalist Aggie Petersen has a great voice and reminds me of early Bjork.
