The most relivent punk band today. Let's face it , Punk happened twenty five years ago. They were ther since the begining played with the best influenced the best and be the best. All this while members running record companies and teaching. Punk to many was about provocation, freedom ,change and an honest sometimes diconforting look at the world. Bad Religion does it for me.

If you're gonna talk about Punk Music today, Bad Religion is gonna be in the discussion. Their lyrics are some of the most thought provocing around and really make u think about stuff that matters. If you like simple plan or Good Charlotte, FUCK OFF!

>>By The Fan   (Tuesday, 21 Jan 2003 20:24)

Oh For Piss sake! Who actually truely believes that she has any talent whatsoever. Avril thinks she is punk because the record companies say she is, not because she actually is. Anyone on MTV is nowhere near punk or what it Fucking Stands for! Go to Hell if u think it is. She has no talent, they do. Their songs mean shit, hers do not. Anybody with me on that one? Reply so I know you are not all embred fucks like Dan over there.

where the fuck are all the anti-flag fans at shit

>>By anti-flag   (Sunday, 9 Feb 2003 06:49)

i think several of you have been hitting the recreational drugs a bit too hard. avril? in the same discussion as bad religion? how one can compare that fabricated pop with some seminal punk godfathers is beyond me. if you fail to understand bad religion, look the big words up in the dictionary and try to remember that the point isn't radio play and MTV videos, but music that means something.
required listening list:
Bad Religion Sex Pistols
The Damned The Clash
Black Flag Fugazi
Minor Threat X

when your head has stopped spinning, try to put some of that pop (blink 182 comes to mind) music back on and see if you can listen to it without being sick.

Bad Religion has been consistently productive in the music industry for 20 years now< longer than many of the fans have been alive, myself included. If anyone is interested in punk music, I would recommend Bad Religion as a starting point, although you may find that after you listen to Greg`s lyrics, you may not need to look any further.

I love this music. This is what punk is all about. I dont like all these late 90s and 21st century starting bands such as minor glory, good charlotte etc. These guys have proper lyrics that mean something and wernt written in half an hour a song.
I went to deconstruction last year without much knowlege in the punk genre and decided that just about all the bands I didnt like. I dont think I will be going this year as only the usual types of bands are in the lineups. My friend who listens to new punk says bad religion are not punk. Hel ikes all this stuffl ike spunge and lagwagon and randy etc.

I say Bad religion are doing a good job to show ppl what punk is about and what it started as. This new stuff cant compare to bad religions dominance.

>>By hitler   (Thursday, 22 May 2003 03:52)

bad religion is just one of those bands you scream for. you dont say, hey now thats a good band, its hey, thats a kick a55 band. and when you throw on a cd, all you can do is listen

>>By punkerchic4life   (Thursday, 5 Jun 2003 01:16)

Graffin and Gurwitz = John and Paul!

Bad Religion and Anti Flag are about the only two real punk bands left! Blink 182, Offspring, Green Day, Good Charollette are not real punk bands. A mohawk doesn't make you a punker! Singing about your girlfriend in every song doesn't make you a punker! B.R. till the day I die!!

>>By BadReligion4life   (Tuesday, 17 Jun 2003 03:16)

Bad Religion are one of the best Punk bands alive. At first, for some strange reason I underestimated them, but I realized afterwards that they were great musicians and got all of their albums.I agree with the guy above that a mohawk and singing about girls all the time doesn't make you Punk, but Green Day are a Punk band whether you like it or not. They have a lot of Punk subjects in their lyrics and some political ones also. The only girls Green Day may talk about from time to time are their wives and there's nothing wrong about that. They're also very talented musicians.
Bad Religion and Green Day will always be my favourite Punk bands.
P.S. Did you know that Bad Religion and Green Day have toured together back in late '93 and that in the cd booklet of Bad Religion's "Stranger than Fiction" they have thanked them?

who cares all music is a hypocracy. green day, avirl god forbid nirvana, they are all have the same corperate cock up their arse. Its all an illusion, a gimmic to appeal to people.independent music IE punk alternate metal grunge are the the worst of them all. shall i explain how i came to this conclusion OK here goes. people start with something new and dangerous ie punk music (sex pistols) this challanges everything society stands for. The society (people culture beliefs) in gerenal sees this as a threat to its very existence and stops the spread of these dangerous ideas by absorbing them it the mainstream. this is done through mass production. the challenging ideas therefore become part of society. they stop begin dangerous because they become the norm. these lyrics that kurt cobin, dexter, billy jo and fat mike write are not for you. people should have no emotional attachment to their music. a song is just a song nothing more, it is not safety it is not happiness it is not comfort. these songs a do not define you as a person. the make you think that so you will keep on buying. they were made to appeal to a mass audience and therefore, people should have no need to defend these bands credibilty. im sure people will dissmiss this message straight away and maybe the points ive make are wrong but least ive considered the pro punk rock arguement. in the time it has takin you to read this will you have considered my own

PS these beliefs do exclude me from enjoying punk music, sex pistols, the clash, the offspring, black flag, TSOL, i just dont let it define the person i am

>>By GoD   (Tuesday, 15 Jul 2003 20:27)

Bad Religion was there in the beginning and they're still going strong.

Only a Bad Religion fan can see the many ways that these artists appeal to us fans. If you like the hardcore emotionally charged music that is the foundation of "PUNK" then Bad Religion has something to offer you. If you like lyrics that provoke, inspire and have some deeper meaning, then Greg and Brett's words are for you. If you enjoy the energy of a "pit", "moshing", "slam dancing", "stage diving", "riding the crowd" then you will enjoy seeing Bad Religion live. If you are a fan ... then you know. If you're not a fan ... then pick up a Bad Religion CD, download some lyrics or go to a one of their shows! I wasn't a fan at first, but after I gave them a chance I'm a fan forever!

"Independent, self-contented, revolutionary, intellectual, brave, strong and scholarly ... If you're not one of them, you're us already so Come Join Us." - Greg Graffin (Bad Religion)

Come join the millions of fans world wide that love Bad Religion.

>>By Jackthepumpkinking   (Monday, 29 Dec 2003 03:41)

I hate them, they suck so much. blink is real punk, bad religion is so not real punk. All they sing about is girls and fashion. What does bad relgion even mean? More like " I love my girlfriend more than pudding " band, their best song is however, " I ate a mouse pad "

>>By willieawesomeX   (Sunday, 22 Feb 2004 10:12)

okay, willie. . .i'm just going to assume that you're joking, because if not you've obviously never even listened to bad religion!

bad religion is one of the most influential punk bands out there! they have been delivering an uplifting and enlightened message for over 20years now, and will continue to do so until the end. . .
