I've been collecting & hearing Amon Düül 2 since the early 1970s & it's fantastic to see they're still appreciated over 30yrs later. I'd recommend all their early work, but especially the Yeti, Tanz der Lemminge, Wolf city, & Carnival In Babylon albums.

In the late '70's, I first discovered Amon Duul II browsing through a Virgin Records Import Catalogue given to me by a record store owner. I picked up a cut-out copy of "Wolf City" in the following months. Great album!

Wolf City is arguably their best standard (Single-disc) long-player in the original vinyl format. On this album, along with a couple of the others, Jimmy Jackson played the unique, little-heard "choir organ", which probably was a prototype or early synth. This ethereal noise only added to the originality of the band & their music. A couple of members, including Renate the female vocalist, were later drafted into the powerful & beautiful Popol Vuh, Münich's other notable contribution to modern music, led by the late, great Florian Fricke.
