American Music Club

Forum

when you have just given up hope this album comes out. their newest album (who had believed they would ever made an album again) only proves that they are one of the best unknown bands that America has ever known. For me this is most probably the best album that has seen the light of day this year. Mark's voice as always is in top shape, and his pen must be the sharpest that america has these days.
When you are looking for a record that has a great combination of power and sadness rooted in the american music tradition, this is the album you have been waiting for. so run, run and go to your local recordstore to get "Lovesongs for Patriots" (whidch gives me the impression that they are not voters for the republican party, but should be left aside - it is just a great album).

Are they gonna tour now they have a new album out? Really would like to see them live. Bought the album to now, and I don't think I will be listening to anything else in the upcoming days, it is really great. They kick dust in the faces of all those other american guitar bands. Think that I am going to get their whole discografy, the 3 records I have now are all super, hope the rest is like that 2.

I saw Mark Eitzel perform an intimate acoustic show in a tiny club a couple of years ago and he was fantastic. Especially "Johnny Mathis' Feet" which he saved for the encore. I was really surprised to see how modest he was. His nervousness when he first climbed the stage (well, there wasn't one but anyway) was so apparent that he had to stop the first song halfway through and resume after a hearty applause by the audience.

That's probably the honesty that you also hear back in his music. The more I hear of him, the more I get to appreciate him. This is a true artist in heart and soul.
Hope to see him in two weeks with amc in amsterdam.... If it is not sold out yet...
