im here to say that ALL rap is horrible they talk about the same crap..drugs sez and girls.its pretty pathetic if u ask..wich no1 did but im sayin it anyways

>>By RaNcId_StAr

I dunno. I can't take somebody who glorifies being a P.I.M.P. too seriously. 50 cent is pretty much the same as all the other over produced, hard bodied walking steriotypes out there. He isn't worth a tenth of what the music industry pays him.

>>By Doubtful D

if rap ever finds another theme other than cars, money, bitches and other material posessions it would be seriously impressive because i just can't see how any depth can be added to a music style where all the listener is required to do is listen to the repetetive beat and ignore the lyrics.

>>By shmoe

shmoe u are absolutly right, they just repeat all the same kind of stuff and it stupid...evry other words a curse and they sing about the same crap.keyword CRAP..i feel bad for any1 who lets rap take over their life..makes me sick

>>By RaNcId_StAr

awful band.....no offence ok...

I'm not saying rap and hip-hop are bad. Some artists do push for social reform and others are just plain clever. This goes for DJ's as well as MC's. K-OS, Jurassic 5, Blacklicious, the scratch pickles, buck sixty-five, kid-koala, etc. Unfortunately 50 cent just isn't one of these artists. Without a decent and financially minded producer, guys like 50 cent wouldn't be blurting their unwholesome, braindead filth to the youth.

>>By Doubtful D

I'm carrying fifty cents in my pocket yeah I have 5 dimes 2 quarters 50 pennies and ten nickels fitty cent piece yeah half dolla

>>By korn,7

I agree with RaNcId_StAr Rap is just people trying to get something or trying get somewhere It is the most pitiful shit. It's not even considered music if you ask me

>>By korn,7

J-BAY, you need to suck ur daddys cock bitch nigga............faggot fuck riding 50's dick like u a groupie u homo thug

BIG PUN THE GREATEST

>>By crazy legs

Riiight. I didn't even underestand what you just said, 'crazy legs'. I agree with Shmoe and Rancid_star(by the way Rancid rocks). All MOST rappers, well this is a 50 cent board so, okay all 50 cent talks about is drugs, liqour, hoes, bitches, being a pimp, cars, and yeah thats it. I don't know if any of you know what a pimp is ... well alotta you do, which are mostly the people that don't like him... being a pimp isn't good, and if you think that's kool, what pimps do, then you're messed up.

ok...anyone got the point of noel s comment..?

about 50cent...two words...

he sucks....

>>By HY...

assuming he made a point which i fail to see but yeah Hy you are right again i much prefer 2pac anyone can be a rapper but only a select few can be artists it is this distinction that elevates 2pac above any other rapper his pure genius and the underlying political message combined with his ability to raise awareness of the problems facing the poor black community that makes him greatest of all rap artists

Anyone bashing the art form of hip-hop based on the output of contemporary mainstream artists are ignorant of both independent modern forms of rap and the history of the rap movement as a whole.
Hip hop became popular as an artform because it embodied the authentic outrage of subjugated and deprived black communties. As this social protest music gained a hold on a substantial portion of America's youth it became a marketable commodity like anything else, and thus began to be controlled by companies seeking a profit. The cumulative result of this commodification of rap is the glut of bling-bling gangster rap many of you so shrilly decry.
However, to say that all hip-hop is the same demonstrates an ignorance of many amazing artists in the genre. Some examples: The Roots, Talib Kwali, Common, Mos Def, The Coup, Tupac, Biggie.
Independent artist examples: Copyright, Aesop Rock, Sage Francis, Del The Funky Homosapien, The Living Legends, Atmosphere.
Expand the range of hip hop you listen to and you will find it remains a vital form of expression to this day.

I recon this boy is on the same level as BIG and PAC.

Syphilis alert! This guy has syphilis - never trust a syhpilitic. After all, Hitler had it and look what became of him! Seriously people, syphilis is BAD. So avoid 50 Cent at all costs, you know? He's a soul stealer on the same level as Busted.

>>By Sk8a H8a

Hitlers syphilis was only rumor and speculation it was never proven he had it

>>By Vavin

What does Hitler have to do with 50 Cent? Anyways, when I bought 50 Cent, it was such a disappointment. The way people bragged about, I thought it was going to be off the hook but it wasnt. Such a Shame that I wasted money on it.

I liked 50's debut, say what you say. Haven't heard this latest one (except few songs), but it sounds promising. I disagree with many of you, when talking about 50 Cent and hiphop in general. I don't find hiphop repetitive, or "brainless" at all. And don't say i have no clue about real music, i play bass, been in several bands, and my musical taste in general is very wide. So i know what music is, and i like 50 Cent.

i dont find 50 Cent fantastic but i gotta say he's gud, n dat new song candyshop definitely a winner. my bro listens 2 50 cent a lot n so do a lot of other ppl. i guess its jus bout personalities n taste. bt 50 cents songs do have a gud beat even if u cant sing along 2 it!

Wow I was just about to type up a big long angry paragraph, but luckily I just read granther's post, which is pretty much identical to what I was about to say.

Basically, hip-hop ('rap' is not a genre) can be an artform in the hands of truly skilled individuals. People who say hip-hop is all drugs/guns/hoes know nothing, they have only heard the modern mainstream hip-hop scene, which is awful. 50 Cent, Eminem, G-Unit, DMX and yes, I'm afraid, Snoop Dogg are all talentless pop-stars. Hip-hop has the most creative and wondefully varied indie scene of any musical genre. El-P, Company Flow, MF Doom, Cunninlynguists, Mr. Lif, and the previously mentioned Aesop Rock, Atmosphere and Del are true lyrical geniuses, none of whom are in the least bit concerned with 'beef' or 'the hood' or 'pimpin'. The latter in that list especially DESPISES gangsta rappers with a passion.

Don't diss something you don't understand.

>>By Stinkfist

Del and Ice Cube are cousins. I just thought that was interesting.

>>By spikee

Eh yoh stinkfist, i with you dawg..Yeah...Yeah..Yeah...
